Sun Yang 400m Freestyle - New Olympic Record | London 2012 Olympics 

Sun Yang was only coached by that Australian coach for several months and he spent most of his time with his Chinese coaching staffs. These commentators kept mentioning the name of that Australian coach but ignored the Chinese coaches who are the real heroes behind Sun's success.

I'm 67 and Sun Yang is a real inspiration to me. I went 4:16 for 400 in 1968....the world record then was 4:06.2. I wish I knew back then what I know now! I watch this video and the 1500 video once a week and keep it in mind when I swim. Swimming is a great sport!

Sun yang has an amazing stroke. He takes less strokes per 50 than any other swimmer I've seen. His dps makes him a boss in events like this one.

There’s 0 evident of him cheating, his results were all official and excuses were to be made on each of the two test failures. People are saying that he is a cheater with no evidence, just to save face and find reasons for their own athlete’s’ bad performance. Sun was one of the most tested athletes and it’s clear that its impossible to cheat on any world level competition. Sun Yang is the second most decorated swimmer of all time according to individual world titles, and he is the best freestyler in history. Maybe his personal behavior is not the greatest, but everyone should definitely be looking up to his swimming skills.

Sun Yang could have easily broken the world record - sloppiest last 5 yards in a big meet (arguably the biggest) I've ever seen.

Ian Thorpe's 3min 40.08 in 2001 is still the best 400m performance of all time (and he slided at the last part too). Fastest textile suit timing and that timing would still have won all the Olympic 400m events including 2021 Tokyo.

I'm 9 and I for 200 IM I swim 3:47 and I actually felt proud, like REALLY PROUD because I could go to allimar ( idk how to spell ) but now seeing these guys... yeah

I think Sun Yang's 3:40.14 without wearing x-glide is superior to Biedermann's WR 3:40.7 while he wearing x-glide.

I really don't think Park Taehwan gave up. What he achieved in London 2012 was not bad at all. Silver medal with 3:42.06. No matter how good an athlete is, his peak time will be over.

in fact, I don’t think sun yang did wrong before...because as I know sun yang has eaten that medicine for a long time because his heart hurt and that medicine was accepted in the past maybe 20 years and it means that it’s ok to use. But until last year, that medicine was added to the block list suddenly. because some people think that medicine possibly, it’s just maybe could make a little bit positive affect for the players, so that medicine was been block, just as a lot of others that may be useful. But the world swimming sport didn’t punish him because they find the amount of that medicine in his body is very small and it appears to a just real medicine so they just put this news out without any punishment, so I think sun yang is clear

so what is your point? in technical sports china is able to compete hard like swimming. it pure physics sports like in those of athletics and basket and such they are behind. but you still see a few here and there like the one who got wr in mens hurdles. the reason china is behind is because they still lacks in facilities and are not able to give 100% in quality training. this will change in the big cities of china though. you will see this. just remember this day.
