Sundaria's Enormous Dark Fantasy Dungeons Pulled Me In 

I can't believe this game is still being worked on: I had it way back when it was called Kings & Heroes: Glad they came back to give it a second life.

Ohhh… I remember you covering it a year ago! Definitely stuck in my head… you really can feel the passion of the developers coming through!

Finally a cleric that uses hammers and gods powers and armors and not just some stupid priest with a stick in robes.

The character design looks nice and the gameplay looks fun. Sometimes a mindless dungeon hack and slash is exactly what I'm in the mood for, and this seems to fit the bill better than most.

I always liked the boss sphere or giant gold chest pops in Titan Quest, so satisfying.

I've always liked the idea of just a dungeon crawler like this, but not so much the tedious loot picking up and dungeon length. I'll keep an eye on it though!

It's def a good game to play. I enjoy it a lot. Been playing it off and on for awhile now. When there's a lull in good games to play I hop back into this game

Third/first person action game + diablo-style loot + lots of classes and build options should be a no-brainer for success. I'm always very surprised there aren't more games like that. Biggest one would be Hellgate: London. Not sure about this one tho. Needs way more enemies at once and needs to be faster imo. It also needs to be flatter like a Diablo-style game. Think doom 1 levels of flat but with tons of enemies and loot everywhere.

I don't like the Toon swinging around his hammer like it's weightless. Beefy hammer needs some heft to it.

Love how you missed that treasure chest next to the two-headed giant you killed, though you were standing right in front of it, end even passed it a second time ^^ Typical Splat-move

Best part of this game is the split screen co-op. There aren't many games like that anymore, but this is fun to make goofy characters and play with your friends. Not really fun alone

Just watching that gameplay has my rotator cuffs in agony.

Kinda insane to think there's 7 divinity games, would have been 8 but one was cancelled.

For reference BRD, full clear (all the mobs) at max level on retail still takes more or less an hour.

There is definitely a crowd for this sort of thing if the enemies would be leveled up in AI.

I would LOVE a game like this but like you said include the WoW style even more so you effectively get a co-op or solo WoW style experience...that would be my dream game. IE A focus on M+ style experience.

The last time I played this I was playing with a friend. after the dungeon ended I lost all my lvls and gear earned during that dungeon. happened twice and then saw on the forums it's a known bug never fixed. That's when I stopped playing.

That two-handed hammer is far too big and yet it is swung one-handed like it is made of a plastic tube with a block of styrofoam on the end.

This is giving me very strong DDO vibes....

OK. Why hold a warhammer in two hands when you're just going to swing it with one? That makes NO sense!

Needs a first person mode. Seeing that attack over and again makes my eyes hurt.

Diablo 2 you can kill baal in hell difficulty and he may give you like a short bow from act1 normal difficulty 🙃

This game is goofy ah as it gets. I recommend getting it for laughs with your friends. played it on split-screen with my friends and we had a grand laugh

I can understand the comparison with Divinity dragon knight saga on the combat, but this game was a proper RPG and had a lot more going on than dungon crawling, you could turn into a f*ing dragon for one. This game looks extremely generic and repetitive in comparison.

this game is nothing but assets repurposed from the rotting remains of their original 1st person action mmorpg called Kings and Heroes. ..this was doomed even before it was flipped.

It's fun but it gets boring fast and if you leave the dungeon it scales the dungeon up to your character level if you didn't get good drops you're screwed and have to replay the lower levels over and over again

Man Splatty, you know what this really looks like? It looks like it fully fleshed out the Dungeons and Dragons Online combat system in a single player format that doesn't suck all of the money out of your wallet like an overeager vacuum cleaner.

I've played nearly a 1000 hours in this game. It is fantastic. It is also very challenging. It just hit 1.0. I believe it is on PS4/PS5/PC/Xbox/Nintendo switch. I highly recommend it. It is not perfect. But, it is amazing. You can play 4 player couch co-op even.

Reminds me of Dungeon Siege in that it looks like I'd really enjoy it for a few hours and then forget I owned it due to better games in the genre being available.

When you are selling or salvaging items, you can click select and then select a level of loot (green, blue, etc...) and then sell or salvage all of those categories instead of clicking each piece. The upgrades only happen when you find gear with open stars...if you upgrade them, it fills a star each time and you can have up to 4 stars on each piece that I've found. Gear with filled stars are significantly more powerful than the unstarred loot.

Last time I played it had quite noticeable balancing problems, range characters had it waaaay easier. I do like the level design especially of the third dungeon. The fourth one, I think, felt like a recolor of the first dungeon though which I found quite uninspired. Haven't seen the newly added dungeons since then. It is quite fun in coop and in general for a while, maybe I should go back in and see if it feels even better now.

It's interesting because seems to be the only modern take on the idea of Hellgate London.

Dungeons of Edera was just like this one and that game is a scam , its abbandoned by the devs and is sold as Finished game

So why don't people just go play Kingdom of Amalur?

The graphic style and feel of this game reminds me of "Kings and Heroes" which was rather unique, but unfortunately shut down before finishing development. Edit: I looked at my copy of Kings and Heroes on Steam, and it appears they gave owners a copy of Dungeons of Sundaria since Kings and Heroes was shut down. Maybe this explains the similar feel, possibly some of the same devs or something.

looks like a game that could've been really dope if it had a bigger team because I really like the concept...as it is now it looks like a game that's 10 years past its prime

"why doesn't level 1-5 named mobs have endgame wow boss mechanics?" says the man beating it all with his autoattack and walking backwards. You're level 5 man, while it may be blackrock depths long, it's wolf livers outside the castle or the stockades

This looks like a rip-off of some other game. Play Path of Exile, the greatest indie game of all time.

I like gauntlet, and diablo, and dungeons, and kingdoms of amalur. This definitely has my attention. I will say though, as a cleric, i'd like to see more to the auto than shooting holy balls at people. Maybe do more damage at close range? I dont know, but as a warrior priest kinda guy I do love hammer bonking and healing.

For reference, WoW always had a map inside dungeons… it was just sometimes useless. Deadmines was an area where it was particularly useless.

Take a like for mentioning Divinity Ego Draconis. i remember playing it on 360, the developer cut of it with Dragon Knight Saga is on Steam, and its still pretty cool there too.

So, this game originally was released 5+years ago i think as kings and heroes. It had like a classic DnD dice roll at the beginning for character creation, I spent hours trying to get decent rolls (i enjoyed it at least.) You could run around the town. It was.reslly enjoyable, ypu could even dual wield shields as a cleric. They took a lot out, not sure if it was for functionality or creativr reasoning. 🤷‍♂️ it was hard to get my friends to come back with it as it had changed a fair amount.

character aesthetics and "smoothness" or how it feels. is better than modern mmorpg games.. somehow reminded me of dark age of camelot , but not garbage like that remake they tried to do ; )

These kinds of games would really benefit form realistic dynamic lighting rather than the oversaturated ambient lighting.

This game reminds me of the Dynasty Warriors franchise in the sense that despite it's flaws, it seems like it's something that would be a blast to me that I could sink tons of hours into. It seems like it would have that same kind of hook that those games got me stuck on. Not that the gameplay or anything is similar really. I've played those games WAY more than the average person. They're like my guilty pleasure of the gaming world lol. I can see this game fitting right alongside them in that little niche for me. As far as the jank goes - Sometimes the janky games are overloaded with charm and quirkiness that override some of the flaws. That's the beauty of the Indie game genre. That's exactly why I think this one could fly under the radar and actually be really good. Especially if it strikes that perfect balance of jank and charm. With that nice little helping of fun, yet simple gameplay. I like this one and I wanna try it. It doesn't look like much from a viewers perspective, but I feel like I've played enough games to be able to figure out which ones will be something that I could play for a reasonable amount of time or not. I'm sold! I dig it.

Nah. This game doesn't look inspired by WoW. Looks inspired by Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm for the Sega Dreamcast.

It's a dungeon crawler more like diablo than wow I think. But 3rd person and split screen co-op. Me and the wife are enjoying it so far. If you enjoy dungeon crawling you'll like this.

this game reminds me of a lesser version of amalur : the reckoning...now that game had really fun move ad combat mechanics and the dungeons were smaller but cool. with todays tech tho you could make them so muuch bigger and more complex but i think devs need more concessions here like yeah i hate running back and forth cause i missed something.
