Remember Malcolm Brown being CA for Granada for many years as I lived near Manchester at the time he worked there (70's-early 80's).

Martin Jarvis, James Bolam & Roy Kinnear were the voices of the first three adverts. Johnny Ball (Zoe's dad) was part of TVS's Afternoon Club team, and it was on this day in 1984 that the JY Prog came to TV via Yorkshire Television who also, incidentally, made that series of plays headed "Love And Marriage" as Malcolm Brown referred.

The first ad, I think, was voiced by Roy Plomley, the first host of Desert Island Discs, although to be fair, he does sound like Martin Jarvis. Nice to hear Anton Rodgers doing the Scotland’s for Me! ad. 🙂👍

@@jezt42 Roy Plomley yes. Plus Anthony Valentine on the Thomas Cook advert. I’m not sure who the deep voice contribution comes from on the Cadburys flake advert but I remember he also did the voiceover for the denim aftershave advert ‘for the man who doesn’t have to try too hard’. Nice to hear Anton Rodgers, what a fantastic voice, prolific voiceover man.

@@archibaldchuff3557 Yes I was sure it was Roy Plomley too. The Cadbury's Flake voiceover was a guy called Bill Mitchell.

@@Tim.Weaver Ah, thank you Tim for clarifying the Flake voiceover. Yes, Bill Mitchell. As soon as I read that I remembered his voice as the narrator on Super Gran. Thanks again.
