Sunday Best Contestant goes off on Kim Burrell 

Even if they were "laughing at something else", that wasn't the appropriate time to do it. Their job was to LISTEN & provide constructive criticism. Kudos to him for standing his ground.

He was right actually. That was rude of them.

He was grossly disrespected. Frankly, I also thought they were laughing at him. Their actions weren’t just rude, they were unprofessional and very immature.

Yolanda Adams was agreeing with everything he said. Good for him for speaking up.

In my opinion years later… “People can’t give you what they don’t have.” The young man stood for not only his self but many others who have came after him. I applaud his assertiveness and his boldness!!!

I think it was this episode that changed everything. Sunday Best started to go down shortly thereafter.. I think we learned that true gospel artist cannot be chosen by people, they can only be chosen by God..

Even Yolanda was nodding too that they were disrespectful. I can't stand Kim. She's got a nasty and rude spirit. This don't the first time that I've experienced her rudeness. She and Donnie were wrong and unprofessional! It needed to be said.

I’m here watching after her last rant. This made me cry! I’m so happy he didn’t let Donnie intervene and “check” him. The Black church has us too oppressed and abusive to each other due to slavery teachings of western christianity. They were so wrong in how they treated him.

He was absolutely right !! Good for him. People who claim to be ministers, evangelists etc. are not above rebuke, reproof and correction. He was on point. Couldn't have said it better myself

I know that this was played up for Ratings by BET, but the situation was real. The contestant was serious about his efforts and was obviously seeking guidance to make it,. So to hear laughter while other were speaking was disrespectful. Unfortunately for Kim Burell, she was fast to speak instead of listening and this was caught on camera. This does not make her a horrible person, instead, this was just an experience to make her the wiser in the future. This was a lesson and a blessing for all to see.

He was 1000 percent right! That even made me mad! And I think if they haven't it would be kind to at least give the contestants some type of compensation for auditioning to get back home...because he may not have been the only one making that type of sacrifice to be there and even if not picked the appreciation would be felt for coming .

I remember this! I'm glad he spoke up for himself. The banter between the two may have not been about him, but it was rude and untimely.

That was HIS time to have professional feedback on his performance. Not Donnie and Kim playtime. Both of them were disrespectful and out of order. I'm glad he called them out.

I feel he became overwhelmed when Kiera told him don't worry about them. If they were not laughing at him they sure made it seem that way. It was disrespectful because Kiera was talking and they being more seasoned should have known better. But I will say you can apologize even if you are not wrong. It will get your flesh in order.

It was needed to be said and I agree with him 100% idk what Donnie was talking about when he said " don't do it like this " what other way than to say it in their faces to address the rudeness. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Kik Burrell but from me watching her on Sundays Best to RU-vid videos, & from me being able to read people, she seems like a sweet woman of God but also has a meanish tone and attitude I do agree with Him and it needed to be said BUT NOW they know how people feel, or at least him and others.

I expressed my opinion when this episode originally aired, I take the same stance in 2022. The contestant had the right to express his concerns, Donnie/Kim should have apologized when the offense took place!!!!! Donnie/Kim were unprofessional, discourteous, very rude for laughing and having side conversations during the feedback process. Donnie/Kim were immature, for not owning their UNGODLY behaviours with what should have been an apology, not a string of excuses!!!!!!

But these are the same people who will send you out of the sanctuary if they catch you laughing or talking on your phone.

I remember this. Listening to commentary on Kim's recent antics led me to watch this again. He definitely did NOT go overboard. They had no business laughing AND talking like that during bis performance. As usual her loud and wrong behind was on the defense. They did NOT deserve an apology.

The fact that Kim has repeatedly been cited for this over the years says a lot. And she actually doubled-down on the rudeness when he called her on it. The footage shows Yolanda telling him to come back next year, so he did just that. Burrell just isn't a nice person.

Kim tried to deflect with her skinny heel wearing ass. Even Keira made mention to her laughter. He was justified in that moment.

I have witnessed Kim be rude several times. He wasn’t wrong. I was at a taping of Sunday Best and Donnie ate this lil 15 year old girl up she was in tears. They can be rude, inconsiderate & arrogant. Be mindful people have feelings and souls. Be kind too

He checked them both and it was warranted, the guy said that he used his rent money to get there in order to be able to audition. Sometimes when we "make it" we forget what it's like to make sacrifices but he quickly brought Kim and Donnie back to reality. One thing about Yolanda Adams, she has been through a lot in her life and those experiences have taught her to be careful in how you treat others. She's very thoughtful and she's very careful what comes out of her mouth in addition to musical notes.

That's what self-love looks like. Yes!! I am proud of him! He shared his feels and why he felt that way. They publicly insulated him but expected a private grievance. Really!? That young singer did nothing wrong by protecting himself,his emotions, and his dream. That took guts!!!

He was getting his feedback one judge talking to him while another’s laughing. Kim Burrell rudely said she was talking about something else? I've said this before when it first aired & I will say this until God calls me home to my mansion on high... No, Dennis was not wrong for standing up for himself!!!! And for Kim "Big Back" Burrell & Dionne (not Donnie) McClurkin to sit there and show their true Christian character like that was totally unacceptable. If for whatever reason their inside joke was, it should have WAITED until after the contestant left the stage. And to show you that their behavior was unacceptable, it took Kierra Sheard to call it out! She said "Don't worry about them, ok...don't worry about them for right now. Listen to what I'm saying"... And Yolanda Adams said "please" as in agreeance to what Kierra was saying...And then watch how Kierra covers her face up when Dennis begins to read Big Back Kim like oh, lawd, he's about to go off on them. Now the only fault I've found with Dennis is that he should have read Dionne a new asshole as well! Because he was just as guilty as big back Kim. And Yolanda knew that they were wrong for laughing for whatever reason during that man's audition. That's why she kept nodding her head like yes, check em. There's no excuse whatsoever. What is Dennis suppose to think if they started laughin during his audition? Nothing more than they are laughing at him. So No no no no, Dennis Christopher Brigham was not wrong for checking Kim Big Back Burrell!!!
