@@MRsolidcolor Those work too. One question is, how far do you need your light to go? I mean, in civilian applications, at what distance does a threat no longer remain imminent? Also, what works best for you under stress? Not only from a hardware perspective, but from a color temperature perspective? Whatever checks those boxes, that's what you need.

Good review. I'd really like to see you use that light to sponser a new shooter. Next time you are at the range filming an ASP extra, find a newer shooter with a rifle, and do a video explaining the benifits of a WML for home defense and gift him the OWL. I think they are a great high end solution for new shooters and that's a great way to bring someone a little further into the fold.

I don't have the CD OWL but I do have the Rein Micro 2 & absolutely love it, no regrets @ all. I will recommend the OWL though for anyone who needs the simplicity of install & still want durability

I am a surefire guy, i like their lights better than cloud defense. Yet more companies in the light business the better for us.

A subscriber giveaway might be a cool idea for the light. I have the owl and gen 1 rein, and they're both awesome. Both are quite girthy, which doesn't bother me as much as I thought it was going to now that they're mounted on my firearms.

maybe its just because the mount is attached, but looks chonky to me. does it feel as big as it looks? another possible downside is the inability tonplace it really far out om the rail. for example when using a suppressor, keeping the mount within reach may have the head of the light far back andcast shadows from the can. would yiu think it would be better for a shorter barrel, like your sp5 or an AR pistol?

I think it's kinda chonky. I think the light should clear a suppressor, will check once my stamps are back ugh.

Modlite lights are also durable, but I think this is an excellent option for setups where durability is paramount and output is also desired, but secondary to durability.

Surefire 6PX Tactical ($95 Amazon) in a VTAC Mk4 flashlight mount ($28 Amazon) will work if you are on a budget. I have several of these mounted on working carbines, and they work OK.

Yeah, a giveaway would be cool!! Personally, the owners of this are "Happy" but I'm beyond disappointed in it for the price. It apparently doesn't produce what they claim, the light itself isn't impressive, as you could see Lol You're being honest John and I appreciate that, it's just not a good option unless you wanna plug and play. As you mentioned Haha For "Free" I'd happily take it, otherwise I'll stick with my Streamlight that does this and more, also comes with everything to attach to anything. For a 1/4th of the price too Haha

Speaking of lights I remember from a previous video that you were trying out Modlight's PLHv2-18650. How does it compare to the Surefire EDCL2-T you were using before?

You forgot to mention that it can be reconfigured to sit on the left side of the rail if you're wrong-handed, which just makes the design even more slick.
