This was very much to my liking, I had to listen twice as the first time I was literally wrestling with my ancient lever coffee machine, it sometimes refuses to release even a drop of the precious fluid. The desired result was achieved as the last note sounded.
The folks at Rakit sent me both their Drum Synth and Metal Synth kits to review. I built the Drum but unfortunately the Metal arrived damaged. The pre-soldered SMT microcontroller was cracked on the board. 😭 They are really nice folks though. Anyway, this composition was awesome. I loved the guitar effect (it sounds like a reverse delay being modulated by something) and the way it pairs with those crazy percussion sounds. I laugh when people say a synthesized sound "isn't musical". It's all about the context. You proved that here. Well done.
The Rakit family are lovely people, I've met them in real life. What a shame about your metal synth. I haven't used any of their kit as much as I'd like because I'm still not really at home with CV/Gate. However, now that I know how to build an instrument / drumkit from samples, that seems like a really good way to go. It suits me anyway. I have been meaning to dig into that guitar effect and see what's going on. (It is there in Logic Pro). I guess there's a very long attack setting somewhere in there. There's also some modulation with the panning which is a great effect. Thanks for stopping by!
