This week on Sunday Longplay, the Road to Metroid Dread concludes with another ROM hack of my favorite video game of all time! Welcome to Super Metroid Vitality!
Like Ascent, this hack completely overhauls the game world with some of the most beautiful environments in a Metroid game I have ever seen! The difficulty is about on par with vanilla Super Metroid, which means it's a bit easier to get 100% items than Ascent was, though you may still need to know how to short-charge and machball to get a couple of them.
In this game, Samus is on a top-secret mission to investigate an installation on the planet Auriga. And when I say top secret, I mean the game outright says that not even the Galactic Federation knows about this mission! At the end of it all, Samus finds a very disturbing revelation...
I normally have a rule against dying in my playthroughs, but there are two specific spots near the end of the game where you have to die in order to respawn in a new area and advance the game.

@@angryretailbanker5103 Yes, I know, but I wanted to play the game before watching the full video (I only watched the beginning), but it was my mistake, I opened the comments thinking there wouldn't be spoilers, I'll be more careful next time, sorry about that.

it's a metroid spin on Alien: Ressurection, the story implys that the samus you're playing as is actually a clone made by the Weyland Yutani corporation in an attempt to create weapons they could send after anyone who opposes their interest. Everytime you die, you awaken as another clone until eventually you get to the end and one of the "Samus'" wakes up in the cloning facility and see's the remnants of all the experiments. the part in the end where she keeps falling down is essentially her having a panic attack because she's freaking out over the fact that she is a clone. In the end, it's intended to make you think the original Samus died and that the clone (you) attended the funeral. pretty good lore, creepy as fuck too

It's a more story-driven hack than anything else, but one thing I don't like is how it forces you to die at a couple points to advance the story.

@@MetalSmasherGaming wtf? when exactly? cuz i just got charge beam i don't have ANY idea where to go. This jungle is big,the map is big. But it feels like a fucking Labyrinth with rooms that are all the same. I literally can't navigate at all. If i should get super missiles using literally a minute of bombjumping the plot os not worth it at all
