Uber Eats is making changes to the way it does business
From the 4th April 2022, we are changing the courier terms, meaning that when you choose to provide delivery services, it will be to Uber Eats UK Ltd, rather than directly to restaurants.
You will remain a self-employed independent contractor, and will still be able to decide if, when and where you earn on the Uber app.
What’s changing?
1. Invoicing - Currently Uber Eats issues an invoice in your name to restaurants for every trip you undertake. Moving forward, your invoices will be issued on a weekly basis and addressed to Uber Eats UK Ltd. Uber will continue to make your invoices available on your Partner Dashboard. Access to earnings statements and payment frequency will remain unchanged.
2. Service Fee - As a result of these changes, our fare structure will be simplified to no longer include a ‘Service Fee’. You will no longer receive a corresponding weekly invoice for the Service Fee from Uber Eats.
3. Base fares - As we are removing the Service Fee, we will adjust the pick up, drop off, distance and minimum fares that you receive. On average we expect a slight increase in the payout per trip. For clarity, this is not a fare reduction but a simplification of how your fare is structured and set up.
For example, the minimum fee will move from £3.50 (which would today mean you get paid £2.65-£2.80, depending on your vehicle type, after the Service Fee deduction) to a flat £2.80.
