Back in the late 80s when my bedroom closet walls were completely covered in Debbie Gibson Posters and Pics and I belonged to the DGIF my Aunt got us tickets to see her Live at Nassau Coliseum for the Electric Youth Tour and when we got to the show and went inside there hadn't been any Snow that season yet and when the show was over everybody exited the Coliseum to heavy big flake snowfall coming down. It made for the perfect evening. Of course driving back home on Northern State Parkway was a little sketchy but still was a very memorable event that I will remember for the rest of my life. I Love Debbie. Long Islanders 4 Life !!!! 🤩👍

Happy Sunday to you as well, Debbie! I get that way too, but every morning I say, "good morning" and thank GOD for another day to wake up to and for the people in my life. May I also say that you look beautiful, Debbie.

We all have our ups and downs, and a mix of it, especially in these times. We just have to do the best that we can and be grateful and point out all "wins" we have!

It's a rough time of year for me, but thankful for the people that I still have, and never taking my life and time with them for granted.

Thank you for the reality check. As a result of your comments, I decided to "approach" my 20 year old son on his recent demeanor. You probably saved his life. He had been different in the past couple of months, and turns out hebhad consulted his family doctor for depression/ severe anxiety issues. If we wouldn't have had this conversation sooner, things could have taken a different and dangerous path considering life's ups and downs. Debbie, we ❤ u.

What your feeling is just being human. We all feel or experience as human beings at one time or another. Put one foot in front of the other, do it one day at a time, and make EACH DAY COUNT.

You're beautiful Debbie, in every way possible. We all get to feeling that way at some point in time or another. I haven't been running on all thrusters as of lately with daily life and stuff. You've got this my fellow Long Island lady, (I'm originally from East Meadow). Hang in there my musical goddess, you have many people who will always love you. ❤️

I grew up in the 1980's and in my fifties today. In this decade I'm starting to see friends my age pass away or experiencing some life changing misfortune. In the background my thoughts are on the higher possibility (even higher than during the 1980's Cold War) of a new World War. That could literally mean the end of the World. There will be no winners if that were to happen. So from all of that I've come around to appreciating each new day and everyone left in my life. So I would say "yes"... I feel all of those feelings you described all at one time.

Good morning Debbie I just watched this video and was great. I deal with my emotions and thank God that he is working with each and everyone. Also this video has encouragement where if everything did so. The prize would be amazing.

This is pretty much EXACTLY how I have been feeling tbh. 2022 and 2023 have been rough Years for Me but when I start feeling sad about things sometimes I then start to feel Guilty because I know things can always be worse and I also know that even when I'm feeling down, I need to be Grateful and count My Blessings. The thing is, We ALL have to give Ourselves Permission to feel whatever Emotions it is We need to feel so just know that it's OK and You are not alone. Thank You for being so Honest with Your Thoughts and Feelings. It helps in reminding ME that We are ALL going through it and We WILL be Alright. Hang in there. You are Loved and remember, whatever it is You are going through....This Too Shall Pass. ❤️

We all put on that happy face but many of us have pain and sadness:( It's ok to admit you are hurt and broken but for some reason many of us hide it. Im a more private person myself and as a Christian i think we feel we cant show our hurt. I know I have issues that are killing me in life and it's getting harder to fake this smile. I know who holds my hand and its my Lord God Almighty who is my strength and only sanity I can even get!! God bless and heal all broken hearts ❤️ I cant imagine going through this WITHOUT GOD!!!!

Grateful and happy doesn't necessarily go hand and hand. That's a common misconception. I'm very grateful for everything that I have, yet still usually depressed, angry, and unhappy about alot of things.

Yep, I experience that every now and then. When that happens, none of the emotions are particularly strong, they are very subtle and it's even a bit confusing at first. I often have a sense of peace and acceptance thrown in too.

Ooh. Juicy topic. I recently learned that the physical sensations signaling anxiety are the exact same ones that signal excitement, aka butterflies in your tummy. But if there's no immediate reason you are feeling something, like if you are not about to go on stage, you might interpret it as bad stuff. That's a trip. Now, the butterflies feel to me like a reminder to make the most of the day before it flies by, or like I'm a little worried I may not fully realize my excitement. Worried/Excited? Why else would we feel that way before doing something we love because it's not a super comfortable feeling? To me, it's a relief when the downbeat finally happens then it's all concentration (meditation) and no distracted thoughts-like pure 'consciousness'. Yin/yang too. Theres a little Yin in every Yang and vice versa. I really think it's a sign that your excitement (gain) is elevated and so the other background hum is just more noticeable, too. Fortunately, like singing, you can "technique your way through it". ;-). For instance, I think "eft tapping" is interesting to control physical sensations and emotional connections to memories or circumstances if they get too annoying. The joys of midlife. Happy Sunday, Debbie. I've been all over the map. I've been getting to know someone more closely that I've known for the past year. She's a sweet and caring woman who seems to have taken a shining to me, and I to her. The situation is complicated, but it seems so easy... and then the anxiety and worry over saying the wrong thing. I do know that I care for her very, very much... and I believe she does the same.

It is crazy that you just posted this because I am literally working on a series of RU-vid shorts about having an "attitude of gratitude" right now. The last few weeks have been kind of jangly and super busy. It's hard to find the time to sit still long enough to see the good stuff. Of course we always focus on the bad stuff because it's in our way. When I feel like this I try not to focus on myself because I know the feelings are just temporary and I don't want to give them power. So I do my best to find joy in every moment. I'm working my first ever retail job right now - at the Dollar Tree - and I find that it is super easy to change someone's whole vibe if you're paying attention. I read the room and try to find ways to bring other people joy. It is surprising how easy it is to make someone's day with something as simple as a smile or a compliment. Anyway, I also agree that seasons changing can spark rumination. I think things are changing a lot in the world right now and that is kind of scary. It's always good to know we're on the same page, Ms. Gibson.
