No matter what you become, no matter what happens, you don’t disrespect a legend in your field of practice, they may not be right, you can reach out in private but never bashing them publicly. Thank you Sir Edafe, thank you to our Legend, this is a great piece.
This Respect thing is one something that started with this 2000's kids. The problem with our players is that they think playing in europe is the hightest achievement in life. I didnt see Oliseh play much but i have lot of respect for him for his vocalness
Thank you, Sunday. Many of the current footballers are products of the contemporary dysfunctional society at home. Poor value training, poor education, poor upbringing. Oliseh, like Adokie, Odegbami and many others back then, had proper education (MBHS, CMS, Finbarrs, Igbobi - these were serious missionary schools with strong value orientation). The problem is within the larger society.
Bro this comment choke!!! You said it all, and not only around NFF, Super Eagles and all....Pali na watin finish this country u just summarise so and I'm most proud you. Weldone!
Our current legends should please aspire to become NFF board members and presidents to administer Nigerian football effectively to global standards. Effective leadership of Nigerian football begins at that level and the earlier we realize this the better.
Where do i start from. I love the articulation, questions, the way Sunday Oliseh broke things down. Like you have always said, there seems to be discipline lacking in the way the SE is set up. I believe a lot of us act on emotions rather that facts that is why we keep expecting results in places we did not sow. I am a die hard SE fan however going to the world cup would take a miracle. I wish i could be proven wrong and eat my words but based on the facts on ground, we shall all watch this world cup from home. Thank you for this lovely interview. As for Odogwu, he should remember that as he is pointing fingers and ratting people out, his own turn will surely come.
So informative, so engaging and very honest podcast... I pray God deliver Nigeria from indolent leaders. It's spiraling into every areas of our existence as a people and nation... God please let the eye of our enlightenment be full of wisdom and understanding to do what is right about this nation... Elegbete thumbs up...
Elegbete, God bless you for this interview. There's been a lot said about this man, most are untrue. I am listening & acquiring knowledge, jotting down some salient points. We need more of this. Kudos 👏🏽
To be honest, this 58mins made my day @ 9.14pm. Wish the interview could continue. You could just know SO has soooo much inside him to spill out. The barrel is so full and doesnt make noise. God bless you for ths @Elegbete. Ths will motivate my collecting the book this week hopefully. Cheers.
He was spot on the Mikel issue. Not many people know that for a long time, Mikel has been struggling with identity crisis in trying to be a British man so bad forgetting he's Nigerian through and through. Sunday Olisey is one of my favrourite local Super Eagles coach and I knew we wouldn't last long on the job because of his strong-willed personality.
If i could, i would apply to be a mentee under Olise. He was never late to camp for over 10 years!!! He doesn't demand what he cannot give. You're always a legend in my book.
Sunday Oliseh... Very down to earth. Its clear Mikel Obi has alot to learn. Life after football is entirely different. Its education & applied knowledge that makes you relevant.
My brother bro shola and bro tayo love oliseh like mad, dey made me love football very early, around 1994,natural very tin has drop, academic, football, music, compare to d people of d old, especially in African, na only technology no drop,
Sunday Oliseh, one of our very best! So sad that a lot of lies being said about him. The good thing is...He is not for everyone - Oliseh is top tier. I have met a lot of players & coaches, but i look forward to meeting him, Oliseh & Osaze my two faves & you can see why - they both smart. When Mikel told that story of how Nigerian/African footballers deal with the stress of financial dependence...it broke me! Cause i couldn't understand what bigger joy there is than providing for your people especially when you can. Mikel cannot tell me he has never benefited from any of his extended family especially those doing well. We take care of each others...as Africans, that is what we do. Class act from him, not responding to the Osimhen verbal diarrhea. Long, healthy days, Sunny 🙏🏿 🇳🇬
I remember that game in Portharcourt against Swaziland. I was in the stadium, Paul Onobi was brilliant. At some point, the fans were singing “all we are saying, bring on Mikel”
Mikel doesn't need any advice from you, Oliseh or the person that posted this video. To begin with, there is no podcast of Mikel both audio and video where Oliseh is mentioned none if the owner of this podcast can bring out the proof in audio or video where Mikel talked about Oliseh that will be fine but in the meantime you're spreading false information and fake news for an acclaimed intelligent blog or something smh. The three of you can go ahead to give unsolicited advice to people and not Mikel Obi.
@@harmonysportsinternational4616 you're so pained and hateful 😏 Mikel doesn't even know you exist 🤭 so why waste your resentment or your emotions. Take your hatred to where the sun doesn't shine 😏 keypad warrior 🤭
Amazing interview elegbete. Very insightful and this shows Oliseh in a very good light. You also handled the interview very well and allowed him speak. I love the fact that you also research before these interviews. Kudos boss.
Oliseh just said it all , this virus has eaten deep in all our sectors not just football , money no matter how it cant stand side by side with education ( being educated is not certificate carrying ) check our politicians , musicians , movie stars , families etc , Oliseh thanks for this inspiration
Great Interview, very Insightful. Sometimes you hear things about people & then when you actually sit down to listen to them you understand most of these things are probably of no substance.
Education is not a scam after all! Oliseh is well educated and he can process his thoughts very well. Mikel Obi is not educated and it tells how’s talking!
'Mikel is not educated' smh your take is very poor. Did you follow what happened when Oliseh was the SE coach? And nobody has even been able to bring out a proof where said this thing. Oliseh can come here to claim holy when his set were grossly indisciplined smh.
Eagles must camp two weeks before meeting Rwanda and Zimbabwe. To get the 6 points . D best second placed team wil not come from their group.. some teams in oda gps are already on 8, 9, pts . So get all the maximum points is a task that must be done .to qualify directly as noba 1
I was with him until he said “All of us come camp on Monday”. That one na pure lie😂. We’re old enough now to remember that super eagles coming late to camp no be today
Good interview. For those of u comparing Oliseh to Mikel are jokers 😅😅😅. Oliseh is and will always be miles ahead of Mikel. People comparing didnt watch Oliseh play thats why. I watched both at their peak. Oliseh always wanted the ball to do magic. Mikel is quick quick pass make ball no spoil for him leg. Mikel was a fearful player at Chelsea hence low amount of goals. I know this very well because i am a Chelsea fan and watched him all throughout. Kudos to big Oliseh!!!
MR OLISEH YOU CAN TALK ABOUT YOUR SELF BECAUSE YOU ARE A LEGEND AND YOU ARE THE BEST DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER NIGERIAN HAS EVER HAD, YOU MADE IT EASIER FOR OKOCHA TO DISPLAY HIS SKILLS
Sunday Oliseh is a legend as far as Nigeria is concerned and he has integrity. Mikel Obi never inspired me again after his days in the under 20 junior World Cup, he was just fooling around with Chelsea club no achievement on the pitch.
And what's your achievement in life as compared to his? Why are you even wasting your emotions on someone who doesn't know you exist 🤭 or you think your salty comments about him on the internet will affect his life in anyway 🥱 fly away 😏
@@Helena_01541 The last time I checked, I never talked to you and I don’t know who d f*ck you’re, so get lost and never ever even think or dream of coming back, bit*h !
@@ELEGBETETVyou have been on about this Mikel acclaimed comments about Oliseh for sometime now with no concrete proof in audio or video, Mikel's podcast is either audio or video so can you bring out a proof in these formats, where Mikel talked about Oliseh. For now what you've said about Mikel is fake news and false information until proven. Mikel seem to be a pain in the neck for you and Oliseh, the both of you can't hide your deep seated resentment for someone who for you he doesn't know you exist and for Oliseh he hasn't said anything about him. Desist from using Mikel as a bait to sale your podcast, you brought Siasia and ensured he had an opinion on Mikel but that didn't sale in a way you like now you've brought Oliseh again to also do same and further demonstrate his deep bile for Mikel. Mikel doesn't need any unsolicited advise from Oliseh or anyone if he need professional advice he can pay for it and not from someone like Oliseh, Mikel is far more successful than Oliseh both in his playing days and after so take your unsolicited advice to where the sun doesn't shine. Mikel talking about black tax on Rio's podcast doesn't concern you or Oliseh in anyway, how does that affect the both of you and when did he discuss Kanu in any derogatory manner. Oliseh has a longtime dislike for Mikel and this is not surprising. You and Oliseh are not as intelligent as the both of you think you're. If Oliseh is that good as he claims why he is without a coaching job for years now smh. LEAVE MIKEL OBI ALONE YOU AND OLISEH!!!
@@ELEGBETETVbring out proof where Mikel said anything about Oliseh in his podcast. Mikel's podcast is either audio or video bring out evidence in either audio or video where Mikel discussed Oliseh. Untill you have this proof desist from talking about Mikel and Oliseh comment because it never happened. Leave Mikel alone every other day Mikel this Mikel that smh
@@Helena_01541 Wow, abeg let me help you Elegbete. “He (Oliseh) had absolutely no clue of how a manager is. He was a fantastic guy in his playing days, but as a coach, he was very terrible. He absolutely had no clue of what he was doing,” Mikel said on the ObiOne podcast. “The players never understood anything he was doing, and he did not know what he was doing.
What qualify Drogba as a legend that doesn't qualify Mikel? Mikel also played championships league final from 1st seconds till d end and one of the best on that field.
It was Oliseh that first insulted Mikel on your Podcast with Babayaro. Oliseh said Mikel has no attacking quality and is only useful defensively. So, why did you play Paul Onobi ahead of Mikel. Oliseh was clearly grudging Mikel because if Mikel scored one of the best goals of any super eagle in history against Uruguay by creating and scoring himself, please, ask Oliseh what was that, if not attacking. Mikel against Burkina faso threw a sweet pass to Brown Ideye who curled it superbly to Emenike 🎉. Oliseh voiced his opinion and Mikel voiced his as well. Mikel has made countless passes to strikers that has resulted into goals. Mikel is also one of the best defensive midfielders Nigeria ever had. Oliseh was also good but you can't say such things publicly about a player because we all watch the same football. Oliseh should please tell us where is Paul Onobi or kindly compare Onobi's career to Mikel's career?
Kindly close your mouth. Oliseh is in his right to critique Mikel. Oliseh is an Olympic Gold winner, Nations Cup winner and Captain, World Cup goal scorer against a star studded Spain. Please go back and rewrite this thing again. Mikel was totally average when he played for the eagles.
@@jd_juniior7276 Who was average in super eagles? Some of you open your mouths to speak rubbish. If you don't like Mikel let us know, but don't ever say again that he was average when playing for Nigeria. During his time in super eagles, Obi Mikel was one of our best players if not the best. Troost Ekong recently named Mikel as the best player he ever played with in super eagles. Go and watch 2013 Afcon that Nigeria won under Keshi, Obi completely shut down the midfield. No super eagles coach ever benched Mikel except Oliseh.
@Ayphillydegreat... hahaha. PAUL ONOBI fled to oblivion after that game... so you think Mikel Obi as a captain who got benched for poor performance in a prior game against an African Minnow, you think that Mikel won't use influence to make sure that guy Paul Onobi never got another callup to the national team after Oliseh left? Go and watch the game that Paul Onobi played and benched Mikel Obi and tell us how far? Don't kill or badmouth a talent for God's grace... even @2019 Afcon Gernot Rohr discovered Mikel Obi's good days were behind him and he relegated him to bench spot. Oliseh has blasted open the truth by this interview... Mikel Obi with his white exotic wife... a man who loves snowflakes choose one different than his mother who birthed him... you will wonder why he has no respect for his family.
My name is Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh, and if you are Igbo, I'm sorry, I am not Igbo. Sunday Oliseh and his identity crisis is the one that needs help. Firstly, Mikel had a great football career than you. Mikel is a better player than Oliseh. Mikel enjoyed more recognition and success in football than Oliseh. During their playing days, Mikel made more impact on Nigeria than Oliseh. Even as young as Mikel is - he can advise Oliseh. So i implore Oliseh to kindly call him for an update. Sunday, please let us know what happened in USA 94 against Roberto Baggio. You cost us a fortune for quarter finals. Please focus on your coach career and leave John obi mikel alone. You claimed Juventus - how many games did you play. Stop eulogising too much. Thank you.
Sunday Oliseh openly declined comment on Osimhen's Instagram outburst against Finidi but said no one could speak against any of the France 98 squad. Secondly, oliseh contradicted himself when he said he never talks about himself but later admitted he could advice a player to pass a certain way because he has played in Juventus etc and pass that way but the players he's coaching have not. I love oliseh but he's not perfect and needs advice from leaders just like he's giving Mikel advice.
This write up need help, Sir... Nawa o! Was it the same interview we watched sha. He said colleagues of old super eagles team should do better in defending their teammates. That the France 98 team are a strong bond that defends each other publicly. Btw, he spoke well of Finidi throughout the interview which was a defence of his criticism. His choice of not speaking about Osimhen & his outburst is personal & should be respected. Also, he didn't contradict himself when he said he doesn't speak about himself. He said he only does that to INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS(to pass over some secrets) not to the TEAM! He specifically mentioned individuals because that's the normal thing to do when teaching someone. As for the team, it will be inappropriate to flaunt your past glories. That's what I believe he said. Great Interview by the way!
@@jeremiahseyeodeleye5356lol, you certainly need more. Osimhen publicly cursed Nigerian fans, heavily disrespected Legend Finidi George and Sunday should be respected for rejecting to respond. You sure need more help.
Am surprised you guys did not talk about the real problem with our football in Nigeria. THE NFF......Nigeria can never be successful as long as the people in the NFF are still there.
Stephen Keshi Was Able To Stamp His Authority In Super Eagles, He Qualified For Afcon 2013 And Won The Afcon 2013, Qualified Nigeria 🇳🇬💚 For World Cup 2014 World Cup & Took Us To The Second Round...
How about Lucky Edobo of NNB and Nubuisi Okosieme, Tarila Okownata, Samsom Ozuogula ( Zion Trian) and Wole Odegbami? Oliseh you got that wrong. I understand you were very young when these players I mentioned were top
