Hi Pete, I looked into the thermal printer thing because they seemed like a good idea, but a couple of thing's have put me off are, one the price of the paper, at £14 pound for a 100 sheets of A4 thermal paper compared to £18 pound for a box of 2500 A4 sheets of standard printing paper. The second reason is I'd be worried about the paper getting damaged. We have all had recepits go black in the heat or get damaged easily, and they are printed on thermal paper. The last thing you would want is an important POD or any paperwork getting damaged easily and making it illegible.

Hi Pete, Saab, no longer makes cars sadly. The automotive side went bust around 2014 after many company takeovers. The aircraft side is still going strong and owns the rights to the Saab name. Scania is now owned by the Volkswagen Group. Scania gets its name from the region in Sweden, from which it originates. The Scania Griffin symbol or angry chicken as it's sometimes called orgenates from the flag of the Scania region in Sweden. Scania's are sometimes referred to as Swedish Bedfords due to both marks having the Griffin symbol mate.

Re cancelling a job when it comes through. Yes totally fine to call back and cancel, assuming the job was not fully disclosed at the phone call stage. Some shippers though deliberately do not disclose all the details when selling a donkey.

Would love a new update on which areas & what van sizes get the most work. I can honestly say where I live down on the south coast driving a SWB van has been terrible. So much so that unless it picks up I won't be renewing my subscription next year

ahhhh , no idea where on the south cost so will say this ..... Pompy and Southampton are busy , nowhere else on the south cost is . Heading north Bristol is always easy pickings for jobs and theres a degree of running back and forwards on the M4 upto and as far as Llanelli .... but be careful as theres nowt coming out of anywhere that far over . Saying Borrow-Da helps get jobs 🙂 London ... muh ! Then theres a corridor of work that being Northampton upto B/ham and across to Cov . You can and i did earn a few quid going in and out of Leicester , notts , Cov and Brum doing 50 -100 quid jobs . Then theres a triangle of work that being Leeds to Liverpool to sheffield . Super easy to get work out of these areas . Anywhere else welll someones going to struggle . Small van strangles you for work but is super cheap to run so it sort of cancels itself out . Its no fun getting swb rates in a 25mph luton .

@godzillas6301 I live near Brighton. Portsmouth & Southampton are very hit in miss. The M4 corridor can be very good as is Ipswich and Essex. But kent and most of Sussex and Surrey has slowed right down lately. Not sure what those areas are like with a bigger van.

I got a printer today thermal printer it's annoying when I go to places they have 2 delivery notes so I'm thinking great then they get me to sign one and one for the other place and I'm thinking where's mine. This is Bluetooth and has its internal battery. I can charge it with usb. Printed one sheet out and it seems good so far. Saves messing about writing up own pods. Printing easy with phone can connect laptop to it as well but no point when can print what I need through phone all I need to is take photo of their delivery note and print. Can only load 1 sheet at a time but it prints quickly. This is small and has its own carry case. This does different sizes of paper up to A4 and can also do tattoo paper so if I want to be a tattoo artist whist waiting at my delivery point I can try and sell tattoos designs however they will look like its been drawn by a child so I prob should stick to using it for printing delivery notes and the occasional invoice if working for someone last minuite outside cx

Funny enough I HAVE put avgas in my car. I did it for a YT video recently in my BMW M3. Avgas gives you much more power. It's also illegal to use on the highway because you haven't paid the correct duty. It's abit like using red diesel. So if your going to do it be careful lol. Obviously it won't work in a diesel engine. As regards to VAT - the commentary is incorrect you DO pay VAT and duty on AVGAS it's just slightly less than road fuel duty. Which is why many UK airlines will fuel up whilst out of the country to avoid refuling in the UK. Incidentally if you want to buy AVGAS most small aerdromes will sell you it.

I think you need to read and hear whats gone on again . Its stated it costs the same PRIOR to tax .... which could be true given tax on unleaded is alot more than what the planes pay for jet a1 .... Oddly a diesel vehicle will run on petrol so will run on avgas . It wont be happy but it will run . A petrol vehicle cant run on diesel however . Ive a friend who used to dispose of miss fuels at the pumps straight into his diesel van . It would smoke its guts out and at times the diesel knock was epic but it was free fuel sooooooo

Alternative fuel, central heating oil, is 99% the same as diesel, older engines run on it ok, but it is not as pure so user beware. Back in the day I knew a chap who used it in his excavator. Central heating oil is not legal for vehicle/tractors/plant equipment as the tax is lower.

Its also coloured with a dye in the same way red diesel is ( can be blue or pink but nowhere near the amount of dye thats in red diesel ) ..... so you can filter it out if someone was super keen , or , drop a cup of dirty engine oil in and say there must be a leak from the engine through the pump and oils circulating back to the tank and you wondered why the oil level was dropping all the time .

No way is someone trying to tell us fiat are good vehicles! I've heard it all now. I bought a brand new ducato. Had it 3 year. Did 50k miles. After exactly 1 week past the warranty cut off date the clutch exploded and took the fly wheel with it. Would fiat help? Would they he'll. £3500 later. Never give them a penny again. Terrible. The engines are good only because it had the old ford transit 2.2 engine.

My new mechanic has said the same about fiat engines. It does seem strange that a lot of newer vans seem to have a lot of problems.
