The first disciples were martyred because they stood gird about/yoked with Christ, having put on Christ, as the new man clothed in the armor of light. They didn’t choose to be martyred. They chose to stand in the power of His might even through the fellowship of suffering. When Peter was young he walked his own way, but when he was old he walked gird about as the new man, and was led faithfully through persecution and death❣️
