Dr. Levi Cowan creates videos and blogs pertaining to tropical cyclones, primarily hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean. Posts occasionally concern other, non-tropical weather events around the world. Dr. Cowan has a Ph.D. in meteorology from Florida State University.

That gyre is kind of staggering in size, a full 10 degrees of latitude is a significant amount of air mass. I'm passing happy my trip to Houston on Wednesday-Thursday was canceled, though.

Levi!! Good to see you!! 💜🌀 Texas weather center channel could use a tutorial from you. It's hard to take weather reports seriously when dude refers to tornados as twisty boom booms or something stupid along those lines. Dude is referring to this weather event as a blob. I asked wtf is a blob because I'm not familiar with that term...oh it's a blob because there's a blob of stuff in the Gulf. Thank God for Levi y'all!! Always a pro !!!

Last year kicked off in California and now it's Texas. I hope the Houston area gets _some_ rain but I'll settle for overcast conditions and that cool, Gulf Coast wind. The longer I can avoid the 90s, the better.

It’s where that one model predicts where the center of the low pressure is.
