Sundowning Begins! - Sleep Token - The Night Does Not Belong To God - Reaction 

I think our first sleep token song will always hold a special place in our hearts, this one is mine. ❤

I’m so glad this band opened itself to you when it did. That’s like the next level this band is on. You don’t find them, they find you. And we can all go on the journey with you now which is so much fun. Sundowning, is a clever term used with dementia and Alzheimer’s patients to describe the change in behaviour (confusion, anxiety, ect.) that happens after the sun goes down. “And you remember everything until the sun recedes once again.” Vessel in his waking moments until he falls back asleep remembers all of the pain, all of the damage he has caused, the self-loathing, the disassociation of self. He is his own enemy in this story. Sleep has been testing him for such a long time keeping herself at a distance and letting his own thoughts run havoc over him. Vessel having resigned himself to Sleep just takes the absence to let his heart grow fonder. Although he has no choice. But the wait is over as “the night comes down like Heaven.” Heaven is sweet relief. Peace. His memories. His emotions. His torment for this moment is met with fascination. And everything fades away. It almost sounds like a carnival as Sleep descends on him. Sundowning is not thought of as a good thing but in Vessel’s case it feels like it’s all he has ever hoped for. And everything comes silent as Sleep talks. “The whites of your eyes turn black in the low light” Vessel is growing used to the darkness and he’s growing dark himself. “In turning divine we tangle endlessly.” Sleep is telling Vessel that he is changing into something new as Sleep is going to enter into him. This is what Vessel has wanted. “Like lovers entwined, I know for the last time, you will not be mine.” She knows this is not going to last forever. He is not the perfect Vessel. He’s capable of growth, that’s the only reason she is here at all. She would have been fine to slowly drain him out from a distance. But since he is still harbouring the ability to heal she has to come to him and set the full on distraction. “So give me the night.” This is Sleep saying if it’s not going to work, we will have our fun. If you listen to Sleep speaking you can hear the digital distortion and fragmenting, I think this is indicative to the fact that Sleep is a fabrication herself. She is an algorithm set to find him. Does not see him as human. Does not see him in any regard other than food. Vessel doesn’t care, because he doesn’t seem to notice it. He’s just glad she is finally there. Or he’s just willing to accept that kind of nonsense for himself in the name of “love”. Great reaction guys. Worship

I got into Sleep Token this time last year when the singles from Take Me Back To Eden started dropping so I can totally appreciate the excitement you're feeling at discovering them song by song... For a long time I only really listened to TMBTE and a few songs from the other albums but a couple of weeks ago me and some friends booked tickets for the Manchester gig in November so I started listening to their full back catalog and discovered how incredible the early albums/EPs were as well., and in April I'm getting a Sleep Token tattoo... safe to say this band have got me like no other band ever has before. Keep the reactions coming guys, I love them 🔥

I think it's about the toxic relationship he had with this girl and how she changes (in a good way) at night. All the fights and problems they have during the day are forgotten and fade into the night -> "And you remember everything, only til the sun recedes once again, The night comes down like heaven." And to me, the last verse at the end means that when the sun goes down, everything becomes peaceful and sincere so they "tangle endlessly like lovers entwined" but he knows it will not last til the sunrise, so he says "give me the night".. This is just my interpretation. I think the lyrics are beautifulllll.

Remember this moment and the feeling you have while listening to this song. You will feel this again in due time. So excited for the journey you both are about to take!

The first and last songs in the trilogy of albums are perfection. And everything in between is a masterpiece. Sleep Token have opened me up and touched my soul in a way music has never done so before. Just a 50yr old dude feeling alive again. Was such a privilege to see them twice in Sydney last month. Such a privilege ❤

So ain't wonna make spoilers here guys,but take note of this song because when you finish the third album, this song will have relevance and a lot of meaning,just saying 👀 Also is cool the way you perceive the song and the vibe it gives you with those specific cities is something I had not heard before and I find it quite relevant and interesting

Great reaction guys,you are going to love this album.Sundowning is a stage of Alzheimer's or dementia and the night does not belong to God is possibly about someone going through this horrible disease and they only remember past memories or possibly themselves during the day time but when night hits they forget everything and lose all of their memories... Worship 🫶

Sundowning is a fenomenom, where the person condition gets more and more anxious as the night approaches. Makes sense when you put it with Vessel realation with Sleep, and the name of this song.

Hey Ya was from this batch and there are about 4 others that I know of, just to keep you going. Whiney Huge bumps I wanna dance with somebody, Shelter, Billie Eyelash's when the party's over and another version of Bloodsport that'll make you ugly blub, so grab your tissues. Only then can you move on to This place will become your tomb. Enjoy😊

Jokes aside, yes Sleep Token is next level and as an American UK electronic music junkie, I can attest to all the incredible music that comes out of the UK. It's no surprise a band as groundbreaking as Sleep Token come from there. Big up guys. 🍻
