Common sense, but that was the logic and rationale etc. used by people when political correctness started and many of us knew there was a more sinister agenda and now we have governments passing laws making it a criminal offense to call someone by their real/actual sex or all manner of other "compelled" speech. We have 3 Supreme Court justices that hate the Constitution and free speech. So many other examples of speech being limited or criminalized while violent criminals are allowed to walk the streets and many states and countries giving more rights and services to illegals than actual citizens. Empathy is a positive trait, virtue allows the justification of evil.
This is oh so healthy! Golf and running in one podcast! I destroyed my left ankle years ago in a bike accident and just recently started walking. When I 1st started I realized I was so out of shape! My goal was a mile. Well I'm at 3.5 miles now on a bad day. I like sung talk to myself while I'm doing it! Thanks for this one guys!
9:29 “kodawari” is more broadly used as “commitment or stubbornness to accomplish something in a certain way” or “strong personal preference”. It could be something as simple as “I have kodawari in how I specifically want my coffee served”. It could be both positive and negative.
Love the stories of his golf experience, got a laugh out of the tree and then he almost kills his wife, Wow, if anyone was getting a message it was Sung. I am surprised your wife would still want to golf with you. Great talk, enjoyed.
speaking of females to get on the podcast you guys should try to get Katharine Legge or Sheena Monk. 2 pretty good drivers in their series. Collete Davis would be a great option too.
Sung, I appreciate you sharing this. Learning how to exist after you realize that you're in the wrong is one of life's important "developmental" tasks.
Really enjoy the conversation. The running conversation was especially interesting as a runner myself. Running takes several months to get past the point of pain and suffering and start to become fun. This is why most people never make it to the point where it becomes easier and you start to enjoy it. People assume it will always be painful and miserable and will just last longer as you run longer distances. This is not true at all. It is very rewarding as you get to the point where you are comfortable with your pace and can think and enjoy being outside.
