This video covers the line played by Joshua De La Victoria in the titular track off Sungazer's new album, Perihelion. Shit is mad. Hope this is helpful, let me know your thoughts and suggestions for more videos! Ry
Great playing as always! This is like an exercise/practice routine yikes! I must have been living under a rock and never heard of this group - I'll check out the album.
Holy moly! When you said it was in 26/16 or 13/8, I was like how? Because the beat sounds so steady "four on the floor". After analyzing deeper I realized it's a 13/16 pattern broken into 6+7. The kick hits were just close enough I could barely perceive its oddness. Sungazer is so awesome at that!
Awesome stuff man! Just a small correction, but on what you call part 1, version C (with the Bb), the Bb plays in both octaves, so the notes on the D string are on frets 9 and 8, not 9 and 7. Hope that makes sense, otherwise great stuff!
