Yeah free shipping and I was super happy the pallet covered the entire panel and then some. Also with good solid wood. My set from santan had the lower panel shattered. Plus the pallet was crap. I appreciate the aff link if you do end up buying!🤘

Going on 1 yr of Sungold Power equipment ownership of 2 x TP6048 and 2 x SG48100P batteries. Totally awesome equipment. Didn't go with their panels because of shipping and per unit cost as I live in the Caribbean. Also, they lack cross braces (reinforcements) that I think is a must for such large panel. heavy winds (hurricane zone) Highly recommended company. Otherwise, very happy with purchase of the inverters and batteries from Sungold.

I have been very pleased with my Santan panels as well. I hear many talk $hit on them and they say they fall apart. I havent had those issues but had some water seep in a few. I would buy them again!

Just for technicality the temp gun should be held closer to the surface you are wanting to read the temperature on for a more accurate reading. Distance in this case does matter for the most accurate reading.

Been running 370 panels, four on the two 24v SG hybrid inverters, two panels on normal day I get around 500w , love SG products, they was going and send out an 48v inverter for a build and never did. Nice company though

Great video Joe. Just wanted to let you know that every solar tester I have reads around a 10% error in comparison to real test equipment. I also see quite a variation over activation time. The longer the tester is activated, it starts to heat up and reads more error usually favoring the solar panel specs. I use a Keysight N3300A load tester to do real measurements and to compare my cheap meters to. I realize that most people don’t have access to this equipment and can only use what they have. Just keep in mind the problems with cheap import meters. Thanks again for all your videos.

Canadian solar bifacials 400w same dimension. Semi rainy cloudy day 240 each. Have them setup as wrap around awning not on roof so can take advantage of bifacial going up to 440w.. But if had option to get all black, sure would go for what's shown to add on. If under 1.74$ per watt shipped, as that's what paid before. Good video, Have a great day.

The only problem with Canadian Solar is they don't function as well as other top brands in extreme heat environments. So unless you live in the north, there are better panels.

I'm dating myself here, but that solar meter looks a lot like the handheld football game I had as a kid. 😂 I'd be concerned that the panels are pushing out more than they are spec'd for. That could be an issue for others than plan for a specific amperage and wattage. That could cause some serious issues with equipment.

Joe: On the label is that standard insolation number of 1000W/sq meter. Your day could be anything between ~700W and 1,400W/sq m!! To do any kind of valid test you should measure the insolation while you're measuring the panel output. That way you correlate the panel power output to the actual solar radiation at the time of your test. Insolation meters are not expensive and are smaller than the panel power meter you toasted. It could well have been the cold panel and a much higher insolation than 1000W/sqm took out your power tester.

I’ve considered trying out a SG inverter. I just bought a pallet of new panels and mine were not packed nearly as nicely as those were. You’re getting some solid power out of those panels! Pretty soon you’ll need to get some Bitcoin miners to burn off all that excess power! ☀️⚡️👍🔋🤠

Yeah they packaged them really good! As far as excess power...that only happens in the summer. Id need to have better angle on the roof for wintertime to attempt excess. I did have Eth miners a few years ago😆

Wind load rating is half of most panels and they don't list a snow load at all. Double check if pulling a permit.

I'm Interested in the inverter. You have this 12 kWh. My question is the average current that it can handle is what? I saw that the light is almost 1kwh. stove and other "heavy normal home apps" would be like another 3 kWh or 4 kWh! So for how long do you think this 12kwh Inverter can handle these loads? And what are the limits for it?

Good review. Here's an off the wall question. Since the panels get quite warm, could you capture that waste heat and use it for hot water, or even to heat a small space?

I did install a transfer switch about a month ago...sadly it blew up as well lol. A coil burned out... Ill have to get a diff brand and reinstall!

I have some Canadian Solar panels that had the blocked tabs like those, makes for a real pain disconnecting. Not sure why some of them use those, like you said, not an issue if you connect and leave them, but still why block the tabs... Sorry about your meter... let the smoke out and they stop working haha, need a can of smoke to refill it. ;)

Those R500 resistors are 0.5 ohms each.

They seem to be of high quality ! One question regarding the 12kw Growatt, do you happen to hear a buzz from the charge controller side ? I installed the inverter 2 weeks ago and its working great ( Thanks for your advice) the only problem is this buzzing sound that goes away as soon as the sun goes down.

I have the same Grimlin living in mine,humming transformer noise when the sun is up means its working. mine makes all kinds of humming and hissing noise. i believe its the high voltage oscillation in the transformer.

I don't trust your meter. It's calculating watts from VOC, no real current flow. Big difference.

If a panel delivers more power than it's rated for, is it the voltage or the current than goes above the rated value or both?

If it's over because of the temperature then mostly voltage. If it's over due to insolation then it's mostly current.

Not a fan on the short cables, I have never come across any panel with short cables. Those testers are garbage, I burned up 2 already. I wish they have a breaker or replacement fuse when they encounter over wattage :(

I checked out the featured site. They advertise free shipping. I did a little math and the more panels you buy, the higher cost per Watt. Seems counterintuitive. Two panels cost $1.10 per Watt, six are $1.60 per Watt, and 20 costs you $2.10 per Watt. Maybe shipping isn’t free and built into the quantity of purchased panels. I feel a little hustled already.
