Taylor Hawkins ended up being a great choice for the Foo Fighters in the end, but I'm really curious what could have happened if Dave Grohl and William Goldsmith had been able to work around their differences and have Goldsmith work in the band. He's a fantastic drummer, and it's a shame we never got to see his full potential with the Foos. I understand it may not have ended up working out for their sound in the end, but he's a killer drummer.
@@murray1978 I’ve seen SDRE four time. William is an incredible drummer and has no problem keeping time. I follow him on social media and he’s posted some of his practices. He can keep time.
Sew it on Face the fool December's tragic drive When time is poetry And stolen the world outside The waiting could crush my heart Sew it on Face the fool The tide breaks, a wave of fear And brave songs disappear To the secret voice of dawn This last time raise my eyes You'll taste it, you'll taste it In time You'll taste it, you'll taste it In time You'll taste it, you'll taste it In time You'll taste it, you'll taste it In time The right words In time The right words in time Sew it on Face the fool The mirrors lie, those aren't my eyes Destroy them, raise my hand Reflected in savage shards A new face, a soul reborn You'll taste it, you'll taste it In time You'll taste it, you'll taste it In time You'll taste it, you'll taste it In time You'll taste it, you'll taste it In time The right words In time The right words in time
I was only 3 years old when this song came out and don’t really remember it. Wish I was old enough to appreciate this kind of music back then. Most music that I remember from the 90s is all the pop that was on the radio.
There were so many amazing bands like this that never got the recognition they deserved. Hum, Failure, Sugar, Jesus and Mary Chain, Lemonheads, The Posies, Dinosaur Jr., so many unmined treasures of the 90s.
Facundo Hoarfrost Not sure if I do. Still have a number of tapes to go through, but that won't happen for about a year, as they are in storage. Glad you liked this clip, though ;)
"Siete", Sunny Day Real Estate Cóselo Enfréntate al tonto La viaje trágico de diciembre Cuando el tiempo es poesia Y robado el mundo exterior La espera podría aplastar mi corazón Cócelo Enfréntate al tonto La marea rompe una ola de miedo Y canciones valientes desaparecen La voz secreta del amanecer Esta última vez Alzo mis ojos Lo probarás Lo probarás a tiempo Lo probarás Lo probarás a tiempo Lo probarás Lo probarás a tiempo Lo probarás Lo probarás a tiempo Las palabras correctas (A tiempo, a tiempo) Las palabras correctas (A tiempo) Cócelo Enfréntate al tonto Los espejos mienten, esos no son mis ojos Destrúyelos, levanto mi mano Reflejados en fracmentos salvajes Un nuevo rostro, alma renacida Lo probarás Lo probarás a tiempo Lo probarás Lo probarás a tiempo Lo probarás Lo probarás a tiempo Lo probarás Lo probarás a tiempo Las palabras correctas (A tiempo, a tiempo) Las palabras correctas (A tiempo)
yall mentioning the drumming so well, just look at 1990s emo/hardcore/punk, it's all there. But, also SDRE was also a beacon for most bands, so chicken or egg i dunno 🤷♀
They say they're not an emo band, but you can clearly hear and see the emotion while they're playing I think its just because of how degrading the "emo" title has become
@@damesoumbi I can't imagine anyone would care if you simply became religious. Maybe dude was insisting on a certain direction for the band based on his spontaneous adoption of religion which the other members didn't share? Or maybe he was just obnoxious about it? Who knows. I don't. But I do remember Jeremy's religion coming up when they disbanded originally. That's why people mention it. I haven't really listened to them since the 90's and yet I still remember that aspect.
No William Goldsmith was the drummer on the Foo Fighters first album. He's showing in this performance why he was one of the best drummers around in the 90's.
He joined after the first album (Grohl recorded all the album parts except one guitar track that Greg Dulli from the Afghan Whigs added on X-Static). Goldsmith played on Doll and the first part of Up in Arms before creative differences (Grohl recorded over a lot of his parts without his knowledge) drove Goldsmith off. It's a shame because Goldsmith is also a great drummer, even if his sound may not have been what Grohl was looking for.
