Sunreef always pushing the limits of what's possible and this time they bring us the Sunreef 80 ECO Power. it's ALL beauty from any which way you look at it! Looking for a catamaran or any other yacht: b24-itpu7p.bitrix24.site/cata...
This is too much design. I get it, people with this kind of money want this. But I would go for a expandable roof with solar panels and a smart windsail for when in open seas, and regenerative for the propelers. Of course you need a gasoline generator. but saving lots and lots of weight and use it on batteries...
Agreed their R&D department skimped. Combining sail and electric would have broken the market. Speed and sustainability a smart wind sail is underrated starting development now lol. Only problem with slide panels is when you dock there’s no sun. Regenerative propellers is interesting as well
SunReef does have a sailing 80 ECO. They have solar panels on the upper bimini. It can be fitted with a KiteSail. It does have a diesel generator unless ordered without one - not gasoline. Gasoline is much more dangerous and less efficient in general not to mention harder to maintain.
Sorry I'm a science geek. It was interesting how the wind sounded as you walked around the perimeter of the yacht. I was listening to the wind. There's a lot of data in things like that. LoL 🤣
What your ear picks up and the microphone picks up can be very different, especially if the mic does not have a windscreen or inadequate wind screen. The noise could simply be turbulence of the wind passing over the microphone head.
Great design. When you rub the dock it is 200k to fix the side mounted solar panels, really not though out well. Enormous cost and complexity just to get a couple of kw of power from the solar panels.
Sorry to say but at the moment i posted, this wasn't available. Next time i will ask when i'm there and will mention it in the video. Thanks for the tip!
A big problem I see is keeping all those solar panels clean from salt air and salt water. I just watched a sailboat cruiser's video that explained how they needed to routinely clean off the solar panel on top of their hard dodger to significantly improve its efficiency. Of course, that sailboat's solar panel is tiny compared to what is on this large yacht.
@@Metal0sopher The crew hangs off the side of the boat *everyday* cleaning 2500' square ft of the sides? (''every single day'') They do this, at sea, at anchor, underway? ---------------------------------------------------------- Quoting @Metal0sopher 3 days ago ''Well this is a super yacht. Don't you watch Below Deck? The crew have to wash the yachts up and down and all around every single day. Problem solved.'' 🍿🍿
More on the actual details please. Just saying best and first, and excellent are meaningless marketing terms unless showing the data and comparisons to traditional metrics. I am a huge fan of yachts like this but real numbers would be better. I look forward to more videos. Donate for a Dream

The eco Sunreefs generally have reclaimed teak but have seen at least one with synthetic. Many have counters and walls made from recycled paper and some kind of resin. One Nautistyle review has a good explanation - not sure of the size yacht, but it's a sailing eco.
