Cycling along the Danube on the most popular cycle path in Austria.
The Danube cycle path is part of the Eurovelo 6 route, which runs from the Atlantic Ocean via France, Germany and Austria and ends on the Black Sea. This cycle path along Europe’s second-longest river is used by tens of thousands of cyclists every year.
From spring to fall, weather permitting, I ride to work my from my home place to Vienna and back. This is is a 80 kilometers loop, depending on the route chosen. There are actually not so many options: either west bank or east bank :-).
In February 2024, the weather was very mild for the season and we had some days with excellent weather conditions for cycling: clear sky, decent temperatures, light south wind.
This video shows you some parts of my bike tour from Vienna to Tulln from dawn to sunset. There are some great shots with the sun going down on the river which makes the ride a very peaceful and relaxing experience in spite of the moderate effort (there is not so much elevation gain between the 2 cities).
I hope you will enjoy the ride and the relaxing ambiance around the Danube river.
PS: the sound was reduced to a minimum due to the wind noise on the microphone (this in spite of the wind noise reduction on the Pocket 3).
