As a long term Kayaker (both for pleasure and as an Instructor) but new to SUP I have used many Palm Products. I like the Gradient Shoes and the Kaikoura PFD. Although it is bit more bulky I am happy with the trade off for the separate pockets and hand warmers and the ability to put a hydration pack in the back. I don't use the long john wetsuit any more as I either use shorts and top, with kayak cag on top or go the base layer and dry trousers. I would say unless you wear a Kayak top with the twin waist the dry trouser will let some water in if you are in the water for a prolonged period. And if you don't squeeze the air out before you start you can get air at the back of the knees which tends to bring your legs up and your head down. But as a kayaker I always wear the PFD and feel undressed without it so still wear it on the SUP, but then often don't need the cag. The only thing I wouldn't try again is the wheels. I am not sure if you have reviewed them but the Railblaza C-Tug wins hands down for me.
Hey Sean, thanks for your comment. The dry pants do work pretty well. I did a test jumping in the water with them for a review we did of them and they keep me dry for a quick dunk. But like you said a longer swim would let more water in the top section. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EwxutqGUa6M.html We use the wheels a fair bit for moving lots of boards around and they work well. But We will keep an eye out for the other wheels too. Thanks Reuben
Finally, the clothing department is as confusing as the board department 🤣 thx for guiding us again here, now we know what to get for the times and conditions we have here 🙏
Tell Palm to start selling in the US. Would love to try their gear but can’t find a lot of places that carry it. Great informative video. Keep up the good work.
Great video, thank you! I was wondering, what shorts are these at 12:48? Love d those ut cannot find the info on them as they don't look like Skyline ones.
