Guys, KEEP MAKING THESE. I don't usually have time to listen to the Friendscast, but I love these little highlights. They'll get way more views on the channel and they're hilarious. In fact, ask Billy or any other editors to comb all the previous friendscast episodes for primo bits and conversations and put those videos on here. Not sure if it'll work as well for the episodes that were audio only, but that's up to you. Cheers.
I hate remembering that Woolie once spoke about double Zeta and wondering what else he saw and talked about. People uplaod some juicy bits but I want a real archive.
there already are a LOT of excerpts of their podcasts, but just not on this here channel. Just search for "SBFC" on youtube. Solidus113 uploaded many, as did at0micl0bster and some others.
I've seen more than a few. But it's hopingsomeone will do a cut of stuff they like or a topic they care about instead of the guys doing it uploading all potential gems. They have an incentive to cover much more.
I agree. Not only do I not have time to listen to all of it, but there's so many times I just plain can't get iTunes to cooperate with my devices that I gave up listening directly a long while ago.
So yeah, this was overall not super impressive and I didn't care for the announcers. But just seeing this happen was so cool, and I hope it continues and gets better.
The technology is not there yet but if you use your imagination it was cool. Like the fight that was a 1 hit KO. That hit was harder then a wrecking ball. Imagine how loud it was in the cockpit, and then they fell over. It must have been so intense for the people inside.
i loved the part where the announcers were like um theyre kind of coming this way. do you think we should move? uuuuuh yeah we definitely need to get the fuck out of here.
1st was anti-climatic indeed but its lameness made the 2nd one so much "better". Still not super but it really made that spinning metal debris, drone attack, metal gut punching & arm chainsawing in-the-moment good. Can't help but want to see more of the future less scripted potentials right?
BlastCasted personally I’ve recently found wrestling personalities more and more entertaining as time goes by, so I hope they can emulate a robot Randy Savage and Steve Austin somehow.
The point of wrestling is it can be a masculine soap opera. The idea is that it's dumb but so bad it's good. Want some examples? Look up goldust' backstory.
Coming down from panic attack, so i have difficulty focusing on what it is you guys are saying but your voices are really soothing I think i might be okay soon. I appreciate what you guys do so much.
This part went down as best segment of the year for me. I had a 1 to 1 response of them saying the thing and me thinking it. The mech battle was cool too. It was lame as hell, and I was so hype. We in the ground floor, but at least there is a ground floor!
If the US decides to wipe my country of the earth, I'd be ok with getting killed by a Gundam. As long as he doesn't just step on me. You know those genocide scenes in anime, where the villain is shown kiling people running away, I want to be the one who just standing there, getting turned into dust.
The only reason giant robots are better than tanks in anime is usually due to two main factors: greater speed and manueverability (tanks can't sidestep, for example), and 3D movement (either by jumping or flying, which tanks may find difficult to pin down). Until we can build systems and materials capable of making BOTH of those factors viable, cool-ass mecha will always lose to boring old tanks. And even then, if you applied that same technology to tanks, the non-humanoid shape carries far more advantages. Of course, that's only thinking about anime-style giant robots. Western-style robots like MechWarriors are objectively shit right from the start.
If one of the pilots had got totally dismembered by the other robots on the Twitch stream, you would have seen at the bottom of the screen "Matt Grasso subscribed for a lifetime"
I just finished watching the mech battle right before watching this. It was both awesome and dumb. Here's what happened so spoilers below... (Spoilers) Two rounds, the Japanese mech vs two American mechs. First round starts and within twenty seconds the Japanese mech punches the American mech with an instant knockout. One-Punch man style. (kind of like what Woolie wanted.) Second round felt a little scripted but that American mech's chainsaw ripping into the Japanese mech was pretty cool. (also almost like what Woolie and Matt wanted.) I think the pilots of the mechs might have seen this podcast because a lot of what happened in the fight was very similar to what these guys wanted. Even the whole people almost dying thing almost happened.
FoxNinja4000 Those fights were recorded in August from what I read. They just needed to edit it since they needed a whole day between rounds for repairs.
I equate the Megabots v. Suidobashi fight to a round of Battlebots/Robot Wars. A fuckton ton of hype prior to the match (in this case, like two years) which lead to a round 1 knock out. Also, the concept of weight classes needs to be addressed if this becomes a thing.
Instead of asking if we could live in a world with Robot Mech Battles, we have to stop and ask if we 'should'. Although, a Gundam Build Fighter / Angelic Layer style technological advancement in table top gaming would be BA. 'Badass', for you Olders.

You're doing it, Peter! You're doing it! You're *flying*--I mean, you're starting to put the video version (well, excerpts from it, at least) of the Friendscast on the RU-vid channel! :D :D :D :D
You guys had NO IDEA about how many of the things you wanted to see in the fight ACTUALLY happened. Do a post fight discussion on the next podcast, please!
While I was listening to this @ work it was funny as heck, I'm glad the store was dead so I could experience it firsthand. I love you guys and thank you for existing. -an invisiblessed fan
I'm going to take into my hands the responsibility of making the slow anticlimactic battle of mechs into a good fight... Except for the first round, that part was super funny
Its about time you guys started uploading podcast highlights. Hopefully this will curb or kill off all of the channels who just rip and upload parts of your podcast and they have the balls to monetize it. If they were making animations out of your audio that would be different as that's transformative, but there's so many channels who just steal your shit and then they sick their own ads on it. What's even funnier is they have call to actions in the stolen clips, like "Subscribe for more great content" or "Don't forget to subscribe" ... Why would anyone subscribe to a channel that's just stealing from another group of content creators? Like these reupload channels have no value outside of ripping you guys off, yet they think they have some merit.
With 37 cameras I wish at least 1 just recorded what happened without shacking and aiming at the door in the background. No one was expecting it to move 3 times faster that it ever moved before and take down a cruiser by itself, just moving was good enough but we can barely see it.
I'm glad the channel's doing these now since there's been a frightening explosion of "friendcast moment" videos. It was fine when it was rare, but it has gotten ridiculous lately to the point that every second of the podcast gets posted by individual channels.
I'm sad I won't live to the point where we can have *REAL* televised mech battles. I'm also sad they I'll never be able to spam Kappa and Gooteks emotes in a twitch chat while someone's father dies
Adrian The Vulture it's a hard life ya know. All these ungrateful people just want their comps and we're like "we have lives too ya know." No one eva' asks how we're doin' it's just "hey make this comp" and we're like "on the way there ya wanna talk?" and they're like "fuck off just make the comp". All the compilers come back to the station and ya can see it as they sip their coffee, starin' off into space, the dead in their eyes. No one cares 'bout us, see? We're just "the compila's who compile" to the people of the world. But we're human too. We have families. Desires. Dreams. We love. We feel pain. Sadness. But it's a busy world out tha' and the people gotta' have their comps.
Hey, we're not-not paying you to soliloquize over here. If I wanted to hear your life story I'd ask solidus113 to make a comp of it. Now get back to the basement and finish that omikron compilation. *whip*
I saw the fight after they kept going on about it and it was....slow and flaccid. Can't be helped since your not suppose to go after the pilot or use any kind of weapon that will harm the pilot so no bullets, lasers or anything too crazy. It was more like a shoving match where one guy keeps trying to throw sand and dirt in your eye and the other guy came to the fight with a pocket knife and resorted to throwing small pebbles whenever possible.
