Bought the Sony ZV-1 in 2022, biggest mistake. The dynamic range and quality couldn't outdo our phones, just like you said. Convinced the higher-ups to go Fuji XT5 and I am in love!!

What mainly differentiates the Alpha 1 and A7R V is the type of sensor that they have. The A7R V uses a standard back-side illuminated CMOS sensor, whereas the A1 has a back-side illuminated, stacked CMOS sensor with integral memory, which delivers faster performance and much faster burst speeds.

The G100 is a camera I use fairly regularly. Not for vlogging though. And I think the GH6 had a similar dynamic range to the GH5S/BGH1, not the GH5M2. Substantial difference!

We're coming to a point where any camera is just so good that things are getting boring in tech specs. You'd have to be very inept if you can't take a good photo with any of the new models. Many buyers, new and old, may be looking into what camera or system has a personality that matches theirs.

I've been on the Sony technology train for quite some time but their cameras this years caused me to buy a X-T10 because I yearned for something simple and tactile. There comes a point where cameras just get a little too good for hobbyist photographers to enjoy. For pros it's a different story of course but for us mere mortals sometimes compromise is good for the soul.

Same. Except, I'm a commercial photographer who makes all of his money with a camera and I bought a Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D. I adore that thing. No first frame black issues so far! I mean, I still use an a7rIV for work, but personal stuff? Nah. Minolta all the way.

if you dont shoot video pretty sure there is going to be an Xpro4 (or maybe then skip 4 and go to Xpro 5 to keep in line with XT and avoid 四 / し ). But this has always been a Fuji thing. Not sure why you guys act confused. They have one sensor and processor across the line. Then they make XT, Xpro and XH with it. Same guts, but different wrappings for different uses. They kind of screwed the pooch with the XT4 throwing the numbering off. Should have called that the XL3. Personally I love the segmentation. I use my Xpro3 as my street photography/nature shooter. XT3 for video and more serious photography where you might want to sync a light or something. Sometimes I use the Xpro for B roll or the XT for the Tele lens when hiking.

Have to agree with Kai on XT5. If you want to shoot photos and look cool, X-Pro and X100 already have their place. I like the size of XT5 but it should have the flip screen of A7R5, making it at least have some video capability.

The first company to offer an INTERNAL ND FILTER, on hybrid cameras priced from 2500-3000, will definitely win the game (assuming 4k 60p, uncropped, and with 6k or 7k oversampling, without overheating!!)

+1 for a new SMALL micro four thirds camera! OM stabilisation, panasonic video codecs, built in EVF, in the size of my Olympus Pen F. Basically, give me a Pen F II that's a better hybrid shooter.

Currently rocking a GX7 and can't agree more. Travel cameras with professional features seem to have been lost to the full-frame autofocus LOG profile hybrid competitions we just had... I think the S5 II may have finished that for a while. Would love to see panasonic release a GX camera with the new autofocus in a M43 travel camera!

This year felt like a lot of the same. The video quality is there in pretty much everything above $600 us. The form factors felt so similar. The vlogging cameras weren't real vlogging cameras. The color preference was pretty much the only thing different in all of the mobile phones with a couple of exceptions. It really feels like there's a stagnation in the market from stuff that we've seen over the last couple years just feels all the same.

@@keepitshort4208 But the two MFT "system" cameras will deliver far better IQ because of their "enormous" sensors (1/2 the size of 35mm "full frame"). PL6 is an extraordinarily competent photo camera, considering what it is. It has 2 or 3-stop IBIS, as all Olympus Pen cameras do. The biggest is the G7 and it's an actual full-featured camera, it's the easiest to use and learn photography basics with and the most versatile. The Stylus 1 is a lot like the G7 but has a small sensor about twice as large as a smartphone's, a good viewfinder, a fixed zoom lens, and IBIS. It's smaller so easier to carry every day. Stock up on batteries, while they are still available, for the discontinued cameras.

@@keepitshort4208 The original Q10 has the incredible build quality and the plastic QS1 has better tech. I hope I didn't get that backwards. Funny you mention the Q, that Finnish reviewer Matthias Burling (?) thought it was so fun, has amazing engineering and he loved it. But he's a genius, a pro and a camera bug. Downloaded images of the Q look like crap to me. (I'm gonna get some hate now.) Remember with the lens on it's not slim anymore. Like the MX-1, it's a discontinued collectable camera. The Q is the world's smallest "system" camera. There are only 5 Q lenses but if you watch Matthias' video, you can adapt all kinds of tiny camcorder or security camera lenses to it. I'm sure you can still find the whole Q lens set on eBay. Well, after all that I'm going to have to buy me an MX-1.

It's rather ironic that Fuji's new strategy hasn't worked well in terms of generating sales for their new flagships, the XH2 and Xh2s, according retailers here in Asia the xt5 is selling like pancakes while the flagships are collecting dust on the shelves. I personally think that Fuji got their pricing strategy wrong by selling their cameras at the same price point of full-frame cameras (you can buy a canon r6 m2 for the same price as an xh2s here!). Fuji should stay niche and I would dare to say double down on becoming more vintage, introduce new editions like Leica does, new manual focus lenses only that are compact and optically great.)

The A7R5 is better than the A7R4. But, not in any meaningful way to me. I do very little video. And I don't do selfies. I use my cameras for photography. So, instead of buying the A7R5, I bought another A7R4. I hope Sony always has a camera designed for photographers.

Enjoy your comedy of both and analysis of cameras. Sony Cameras simply don’t stand up to pro work especially wildlife and fast action sports or wild life work or even extreme nature photography. Not impressed with Sony Pro-services either compared to Nikon or Canon.
