Nicodemus was An amazing man. I dated him in 1989. I met him in Bridgeport Connecticut when he was up from New York visiting his cousins Charlie and Jakes. We had many many great times and I have so many fond memories of us living in Garfield place in Brooklyn, his brother blaka mauwel, going to dancehall shows when his hit cabinstabin came out and going to see supercat and his wife Michelle in long island. Lots of time spent at the dog track as well. Lol he showed me a lot of beautiful places and even gave me a shout out on one of his records irie ippie one. I will never ever forget him! Big up LULU’s kitchen in Brooklyn and reverend badoo’s mother!
A great performance...but not spontaneous..... These guys are masters of their trade. They did not get where they did by relying on spontaneity. They do nothing which is not properly rehearsed. Believe that.
@@Junjo11 Of course some spontaneity or add libbing takes place but you would be wrong to believe that any of these guys didn't rehearse these lyrics. They are professionals.. They rehearse and fine tune before any performance.
@@Junjo11according to burro from his interview he said demus was sick and a friend bought him to a dance and knew demus wasn’t meant to drink, and he drunk that night and died the night morning 😔🕊️
Bwoy what ah people used to Enjoy themself Back ina them days. Dancehall full up. Demus and Mr Cat ah Rule De Crowd. Great days from long ago in The great New York City. R.I.P. Demus. 🇧🇴🇯🇲
Flossy Beetz Welcome. Sandokan name Wayne was the famous bad man from Waterhouse. His idiot friend Jimmy killed him. Sandokan don't hurt you unless there are good reason to

Shaggy said in an interview that nicodemus had the best timing as an mc,and this little piece of gem totally backs up that statement, the man had a timing that can flow over any genre of music,if he never die at an age before the fusion of reggae hip hop,he would of dominated the charts
i must have watched this over a hundred times...crazy flow & love in the dancheall, you can hardly find two artist sharing the stage nowadays. what is the name of the song Nicodemus sings at time 1:58 in the video? and the song Nicodemus sings about Mandela & Mike Tyson at 3:12?
1:58 is based on his song "Suzy Wong" and @ 3:12, I think he's freestyling on the mic about Mandela getting released from prison and Mike Tyson getting knocked out by Buster Douglas. Both events happened in 1990, the same year this was filmed.
i am not a big specialist in other genres but raggamaffin i ovastand for quite a while, and me have to say this was one of the most gentle switches between root riddims ever. Especially when they started freestylin.Incredible synergie between these two. Godfardas of raggamaffin.
Sadly, me and my bredrdin went to book them for one of the last show Demus did before passing. Much respect to the Demus and the Apache representing Jamaican music.
Apachie show you pon video why im on top of his craft, boss dj with the late short man , Demus who lick out stalag, they both look mash up, but pure vibes bussing, you dun no, easy Mr Cyat, and Demus (Rip).
Which part of the bronx? in1986 I introduced Dancehall to my hood. At first the didn't like it but when it went big in 1990 they were diggin the songs from 86 and didn't know it. I guess they were just riding it. but me I been with Reggae since 1980...Yellowman Bob Marley, Mutabaruka and all of dem. Big up To reggae music
