Recipe:
5 lbs. pork butt (shoulder) cut into cubes
2 lbs. (2 Jars) Crushed Tomatillos (use 1lbs if you want a thicker chili)
1 cans (12oz) Pickled Sliced Jalapenos (like from Taquerias).
1 bunch cilantro
1 large onion chopped
3 jalapenos sliced
4 limes (juiced)
2 tablespoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon oregano.
In a blender, blend the cilantro tops and the pickled sliced jalapenos with the vinegar juice together as the base for the chili verde. Place all ingredients in crock-pot, turn on medium/high heat for 8hrs, use lower heat if you want to cook it overnight (12+ hrs)
Serve as stew with rice and beans, or strain out meat for a nice and sloppy taco or burrito. Enjoy!

Love this recipe! I peel and chop up some potatoes and throw them in halfway through.

I like to do a light Browning of the meat before putting it in the crock pot. Gives the meat just a bit more flavor. Otherwise looks delicious.

I just bought all the ingredients and will be making it this weekend. It's super hot here so this will help with the heat of not using the stove. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Looks nice and easy, going to try this week. Wanted to ask if there was a specific reason for the plastic inside the crock pot ? Thx

It looks so yummy. Wow, simpler than I do mine. I want to try yours for sure. I've never heard of bottle tomatios? I'll have to look for them at walmart. Thank you for sharing. I love Chile Verde soupy.

I've mostly seen the canned, this bottled one I've only seen at my local specialty grocer who stocks a lot of unique product that you don't normally see at stores. If you have fresh ones you can substitute 3-4lbs and a cup of stock.

I got 4 very large tomatillos how many did you use? Was it enough to feed 4 people?

Looks freakin' delicious! I must admit I've never seen jar tomatillos ready to use. I'm sure home made is better but when in need, why not, right? I will look for those next visit to market. Thanks for the video.

Thanks! The fresh are best, but jar is next, and then can. I've used jar because I could find it at the local market but also because I learned from my good friend who gets a load each year of wild tomatillos from by the river, she cans them in mason jars each summer to have pozole and chili verde throughout the year. Let me know how it goes!!

why cooking with plastic?

I got a few crock pot/slow cooker liners. You can throw away the liner after cooking, it doesn't melt. They are kinda pricey and my dishwasher does fine so I stopped using them.
@barbarahedges1791

they are liners you can buy to not have to clean the crock pot mess up or have to soak it for hours.
