TO ME RYAN IS THE BEST SHOT PUTTER IN THE WORLD AT PRESENT MOMENT, IF NOT AT ALL TIME. LOOKING AT HIS TECHNIQUE OF THROW, USING THE ROTATIONAL METHOD, HIS BODY IS SO RELAX AND HE START HIS THROW FROM LOW SPEED TO HIGH SPEED. HE IS JUST SIMPLY "GENIOUS".GOD BLESS HIM"!!!!!
I love this video. I saw Ryan throw at Millrose in 2023. I was in the tailgate, standing right next to the guys when they were warming up, throwing into a chain link fence. I'm pole vaulting again at 72 years old, so this video is inspiring me to maybe meet a 70-year-old lady shot putter if I'm lucky. I really love this video.
his throwing hand is literally permanently swollen because of how much time he spends in a wrap/taped. If that isn't the cherry on top on how dedicated he is to his craft, I don't know what is.
I couldn't find any coverage of him taking a victory lap after the Tokyo gold. Hopefully it happened. But, I haven't seen it yet, and would like to. It seemed like Kovacs and Walsh were celebrating while Crouser was unwrapping his wrists and recycling empty water bottles and then the feed cuts off. I check the prime time coverage, full session feed, and individual shot put final coverage video. None of them have the celebration.
Amazing athlete. GOAT.!!!! But Coach Johnson to compare his start speed with Usain Bolton was a JOKE. A little bit too much & not even true. Ryan is a BEAST!!!
Actually it's no joke - Shot Putters have serious explosive power. 10-12m is completely believable. After that of course he would lose miserably. And start speed in basically reaction time not speed. The first initial reaction is an explosive one. SPers are known for their extreme explosiveness - many have some serious vertical jumps for men that large. I'm talking 35-40+ inches. This is by no means hype!!
