One of the things I love the most about super junior is there ability to not take themselves to seriously just watch some of their videos and you’ll see how much fun they have while singing a good song. Mamacita is a perfect example. I look forward to more SUJU.

Exo-L here but nobody beats SuJu when it comes to comedy. They literally invented comedy 😂 Exo are honestly innocent children when compared to Super Junior, NCT and SHINee.
No doubt you have probably hard "Sorry Sorry" before and may not have even realized it at the time. It's almost impossible to be a fan of Kpop and not know Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry" LOL. This is one of THE MOST iconic Kpop songs and choreo of all time. "Sorry Sorry" came out in 2009 and it is what shot Super Junior into intentional superstardom. EVERY single person and their grandparents in Korea knows this song and can dance the dance. "Sorry Sorry" is the one song that everyone in the industry knows and is practically required to perform at least once in their careers. At their peak Super Junior was a 13 member group + 2 members who were exclusively part of Super Junior-M = 15 members in total. There are 13 members in "Sorry Sorry" -- I think this might be the last MV where we see all 13 of the original members together in one MV. (Kibum and Hangeng officially left the group in 2010.) From here on out, SuJu spends almost 9 years where they are missing at least one member as they all take their leave to serve in the military, or because of other issues. The members started going off to the military in 2009/2010 and the last member was discharged in 2018. "Sorry Sorry" is so well known and so iconic that it is the most well known Kpop song around the world, and when it came out it became an international trend. Groups of people were getting together in 2009/2010 and learning this dance and song and posting it all over the internet. The song was so big that even an entire prison population in the Philippines learned this dance and performed it. You can find thousands of clips of groups of people from all around the world performing this song, and even grandmothers have formed dance teams and aerobics workout classes around this song and choreo. You can also find clips of pretty much any Kpop group or artist performing a cover of this song and dance as part of their standard rookie debut, and I literally mean EVERY Kpop artist and entertainer. As you might have noticed, Super Junior is known for their vocals and for their dancing. As an SM Entertainment group it's really no surprise that the members are all amazing vocalists and dancers because that's just a fact about the type of people that SM selects to be a part of its company. SM has become known for its amazing vocalists and dancers and that is why it's one of the largest and most influential entertainment companies in Korea and around the world. Super Junior has 3 main/lead rappers -- Eunhyuk, Shindong and Heechul -- but they are all amazing singers as well. SJ's rappers are such good singers that they have even been known to fill in for the main signers on occasion. But, the more you follow SM Entertainment groups, you will soon discover that all of SM's rappers were actually chosen to become trainees for their vocal and/or dancing skills. The majority of SM's rappers learned to rap, or at least became good at it, after they joined the company. Therefore, all of SM's artists are amazing vocalists -- being great rappers is just a bonus. (They most recently have been touring as part of their 9th world tour -- Super Show 9 -- as of a few months ago.) So, I don't think you will run out of Super Junior things to watch for a very long time. LOL Super Junior are one of the Godfather's of Kpop and they have always been ahead of their time. They have such a wide range of songs and styles that they appeal to almost everyone, you just have to find your jam. When "Sorry Sorry" came out no one was doing what Super Junior was doing and the sound and style of the music was so new and trendy that it caught on like wildfire. And that's pretty much what Super Junior has been doing ever since. For many years Super Junior even had their own record label -- Label SJ -- which was under SM Entertainment, but also more independent, so they were able to collaborate with other Kpop artists outside of SM and even non-Kpop artists such as Latin artists like Reik and Leslie Grace. The members range in age from 40-34.(During "Sorry Sorry" they were 26-21) That's why they have a more mature and classy look and feel to their most recent MVs and songs and that's why you often see them dressed in suites. They are all men, not boys. LOL But as you will soon discover, they are one of the most unique groups when it comes to the dynamics of the members personalities -- they truly are fun, crazy, over the top and aren't afraid to just let their freak flag fly when they interact with each other. They truly are a group of brothers that have been together for so many years that nothing is off limits and they don't hide their true selves from the cameras. LOL Super Junior are known for their story based MVs, their catchy choreography and their goofy fun concepts. Some of their other songs you should check out are "Danger" by Super Junior-D&E; "Black Suit" and "Devil" by Super Junior; and Super Junior-M's "Swing". (Super Junior-M is Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit so if you react to them maybe consider reacting to the Chinese/Mandarin versions of the songs because that's the original version. Fun fact: The whole reason why EXO and NCT have Chinese sub-units is because Super Junior pioneered the concept and became the very first Kpop group to actively promote in China.) SJ are legends in the industry and they have paved the way for almost everything you see in the Kpop industry today. They set the standard for how Kpop is promoted around the world. They are also the first group to have serious roles in all the other entertainment industries -- setting the standard on how a Kpop star branches out into all parts of the industry. They are not only singers and dancers but members are musicians, composers, songwriters, lyricists, music and video producers, TV and movie actors, stage actors, models, radio DJs/ hosts, variety show hosts/MCs, authors, etc. Pretty much anything we think of as a standard part of the Kpop industry was created because of them. They were the first Kpop group to have non-Korean members, the first group to have dedicated sub-units and the first Kpop group to have a sub-unit that focused on producing songs in Mandarin for the Chinese audience.

Sorry Sorry was about 3/4 years into their career. I guess most would say they "peaked" in popularity around 2011, right before enlistments started taking a toll, but they still sell out concerts and continue to release music. We ELF (ever lasting friends) get at least one Suju mini-album about every two years, but tacked onto sub-unit things (they currently have D&E, KRY, and newly formed LSS) and solo projects we are kept well fed if not a little overwhelmed sometimes. They tend to do catchy pop or trendy songs for their group title tracks, but they have everything from latin collabs, edm, brit-pop, ballads, to funk and broadway style numbers. Lots of Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Boys to Men, and Bruno Mars vibes, but you know kpop and it's "what genre is this?" situation, so you may get any combination of these things.😂 They are best enjoyed live, as they are captivating performers and have different stage versions of songs. We ELF have been listening to Sorry Sorry for well over a decade now, so they have had to get VERY creative with it. 😂 Next year will be their 20th anniversary, and we can't wait to see what they have in the works for us. As for reccomendations: Raining Spell for Love (live clip) and Burn the Floor (performance video- feel free to skip the intro ) are beautiful. Mango or Don't Wait are more upbeat. Animals and Otra Vez are two of their latin-inspired songs. If you have a preferred genre or vibe just let us know and we can steer you in the right direction. Don't worry about your facial expressions either. ELF tend not to be as sensitive as younger fandoms, so just be open and honest in your reactions... with 800 + songs, no one is going to like them all. Plus with almost 20 years of activity there are some fashion and stylistic fads that are sure to have you flabbergasted at times (the mv for Mr Simple- you have been warned.) So they debuted in 2005 and this song is pretty indicative of a particular era of super junior (probably their most iconic) though if you do want to check out another side to them they have an amazing rnb version of this song sung by their three main vocals called ‘sorry sorry: answer’. Unlike most groups of their age, they are actually still together (for the most part, after many hiccups and losing a few members along the way) but now are probably more known for their appearances in variety shows and as mcs than for their current presence in the music scene. But yeah, they’re all in or approaching their forties now and celebrating their 20th anniversary and still going strong.

Super Junior is still very much active and release about an album a year and even go on tours. They had a few members leave and have been a 9-member group since 2017. They are quite well known in Korea and abroad as they've pretty much entrenched themselves in almost every aspect of the Korean entertainment industry: music, tv, dramas, movies, musicals, variety shows, etc. 'Sorry Sorry' is iconic and almost every idol group covers it at some point in their idol journey. They have a very diverse discography and listening to it can show one how Kpop has evolved over the years. They are usually called the "Kings of Hallyu" by the Korean media as they were among the first to really push Kpop outside Korea and onto the international stage.

SuJu have a special place in my heart. That they have so many members made it difficult for me to fall for them immediately, but once you do it's "everlasting" indeed (their fandom name is ELF which stand for everlasting friends). Never liked the autotune (live they perform the song without it), but the song is so catchy and the choreo is such a classic. The video actually reminds me of the British swinging sixties films of Richard Lester. There is also a lovely ballad version called "Sorry Sorry Answer" also with a bw mv. That was actually very unusual for Kpop in any era, and the minimalism made it stand out! (It's not as if they didn't have color TV in Korea back then LOL) SuJu are still going strong and in 2020 they amazed us with "Burn the Floor" please check that out. The member you singled out is Ryeowook, his solo "Its ok" especially in the orchestra version is incredible. Sapphire blue is ELFs fandom color, so you are dressed for the occasion. :)
Super junior have the best vocal line in kpop the seniors to Exo . They paved the way for group that came after them they deserve a lot of respect. If your in doubt listen to there sub unit of KRY which is there three main vocalists there just fantastic

SUJU are the hallyu wave kings aka they helped kpop to become known outside of korea especially with the release of sorry sorry in 2009 if i am not mistaking... they debuted in 2005, a bunch of chaotic humans with no filter 😂, their compilations can showcase that perfectly... Even though they lost 4 members along the way they are still active not as much but i can say proudly that they are the 1st kpop group to break the military service curse with a successful comeback (the 2nd and 3rd gen grps usually disbaned after the end of their 7 yrs contract or they get forgotten after the military service hiatus for bgs) The members now are busy with different paths those in acting MCing, hosting, musicals, directing (sindong and eunhyuk directed EXO concerts before and they were very successful) but i believe they were on tour not long ago (fellow elfs please), to the point that ppl forget or new generations completely ignore that they are idols.... SUJU's fandom is called E.L.F (ever lasting friend) one thing that i like about elf is that they answer SUJU when they shout they slogan (after suju say "hi we are super junior" elf always answer and shout "hi we are elf" i really like it you should look for it especially in concerts 💙 they ave their own label under SM ent
They lost the label in the SM restructure; they now share a "center" with a few other groups. But D&E have founded their own company ODE. SS9 wrapped up last year, but we're getting a spin-off series later this year (June I think) and I have fingers crossed that they're aiming for SS10 coinciding with their 20th anniversary.

Oh wow Super Junior! I had a diehard SuJu stan phase for a while years back. lol But yeah, Sorry Sorry is THE song that put on them on the map, and their biggest song ever. This was released in the 4th year of their career. They're still active idols, TBH. They never stopped, even throughout their 9 years of military enlistment where there's always 1-2 members missing at a time. They usually release an album a year then have a concert tour. But for most part, all their members are very busy on their own, working as solo singers, actors, variety show hosts, musical actors, etc. They're everywhere on Korean showbiz, to the point that sometimes people forget that they're idols. lol Anyway, Super Junior is honestly a trailblazer in the sense that they were the first idol group with such a large number of members, the first to have sub-units, the first to have their members be active on variety shows and acting and modeling, etc. When they debuted back in 2005, the general industry mindset was that solo gigs were for after the group disbands, but Super Junior showed that it can be done while the group is still very active. And that's why nowadays, we see many idols being music show hosts, variety show panelists, actors, musical actors, etc, because they saw Super Junior do it first. Right now, their youngest member recently turned 36, and their two oldest members would turn 41 in July.
Kerry once told us on Discord they are tooo many but just for the record EXO had 12 members at the beginning and SuJU I believe had 13 .....also you guys doing Seventeen which is a 13 member group. Sorry sorry is the foundation of the sound that was keyed ‘SJ Funky’ by their main producer and it is a uniquely SuJu sound. Their next couple of title tracks are a continuous elevation of this genre. I personally prefer their ballads though - they have a super impressive back catalogue and so many unit groups. Fun fact the sub unit Super Junior K.R.Y was the first ever K-pop sub unit - and the power house vocals of the group (and some of the best in the whole industry I dare say). Since you guys are Seventeen fans you can see SJ as an older version of Seventeen. Both groups are 13 members (although only 9 SJ members are currently active), all of them are bonkers (if you think SVT variety is crazy you should check out SJ variety), and their team spirit is amazing. And yes I stan both groups :)
They are still very active. As a new ELF, there are surprising number of new videos of the members comjng out everyday. The concerts later this month in Seoul were sold out within minutes. I bought at the fan club presale: I timed myself so I clicked into the ticketing page within the first couple of seconds and only managed to get ticket at very far back.
Loved watching this with you. Discovered actor Siwon's dramas during Covid lockdown, then he led me to Super Junior's version of K-Pop and now I'm obsessed - I never want to escape!
You really should watch Knowing Brothers, Heechul is hilariously vicious and they’re guests are idols or actors. Most of the groups you’ve reacted to have been on the show and they have a great time. Siwon was in Dragon Blade with Jackie Chan, good movie. It’s hard to believe they’re in or close to their 40’s now and they still travel and perform. I believe they are also judges on various shows, I see a few of them on the shows. Some of the old groups pop up every now and then on RU-vid, they were amazing. Unfortunately some really good newer groups don’t get much exposure, Xeed is newish really talented. Enjoy the banter.

I think the most accurate way to explain Super Junior's music is EXO. That's it - every song is not what you expect it to be and they are so all over the place (in a good way) that you can get every genre out of them. I'm sure most comments explained all of this but a quick summary: Fandom name is ELF - Ever Lasting Friends, fandom colour is Sapphire Blue. They started with 13 members and are the first group to have a Chinese member (Hangeng); they had a group that promotes in China, which consisted of Hangeng and a few other members (can't name them cuz they changed at some point, but I think Siwon, Ryeowook, Donghae, Eunhyuk at some point) plus two other which were not in the official group - Henry and Zhoumi (they promoted only with SuJu-M). SuJu are also the first group to have a subunit in kpop - SuJu - K.R.Y (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung); before there was Chen, Kyungsoo and Baekhyun, the Kpop vocal trio was K.R.Y; still are in my opinion, tho no one can argue with the vocal kings. They also had sub-groups (too many members to call them units really xD) - SuJu-H (happy), SuJu T (trot genre), also SuJu D&E (Donghae and Eunhyun, still active, left SM, but still in SuJu, have their own company, just released an album) and recently formed SuJu L.S.S (Leeteuk, Siwon, Shindong). Shindong is the first (and only) idol who doesn't fit the "beauty standard", but he is one of the main dancers in SuJu and was accepted in SM because of his amazing dancing skills; he is recognized in the industry for them, he's really amazing. Kyuhyun joined the group last, after they debuted thanks to his amazing vocals. Over the years there were many things that happened with SuJu, but I won't go in details, someone in discord will probably explain it anyways, I'll just say who is no longer in the group - Hangeng was the first to leave, issues with SM and how they treated him as a chinese member, blacklash from kfans cuz he was the first, etc., Kibum left to be an actor very early, Kangin left because he is stupid, this should go in controversial in Discord (I think he is still technically a SuJu member, just not promoting and generally out of the group), Sungmin was "forced" out of the group, cuz he got married, which is not a problem on its own, but he literally ditched the group mid concert tour without saying anything to them to go and get married, so fans were enraged and protested, so he was out, Henry, I think is no longer in the group or SM and I genuinely have no idea what is happening with Zhoumi, I think he is still under SM, maybe part of SuJu still, no idea; he was in the recent SM Town tho. There is one very significant event - a car accident involving Kyuhyun, Leeteuk and Eunhyuk (I think it was only them, I might be wrong) in their early years, which was very serious, but I won't go in details, maybe someone in Discord will explain if you want to know. They are variety gods - Leeteuk is one of the nation's MCs, Heechul is arguably the most known name in the entertainment industry overall and all of them are all over the industry. They are all super fun. Overall, they are totally amazing and can be a bit overwhelming but believe me when I say that they are worth it. Once you become and ELF, you are there for life, it's one big family.

Yesung and Eunhyuk bias and Lee Teuk and Heechul bias wreckers but can say probably less than 1mm difference between them all 😂 love them! Always Jam first! 😂 but pronunciation agreed upon. Due to the excessive use of autotune in their music in those years. But their trio main vocalist (Called SUPER JUNIOR K.R.Y stand from Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung) was one of the most legendary kpop vocalists ever, as is evident in the song when we where us. Oh don't worry ELF is really chill, most 2nd gen fandoms are chill, ELF just as SJ don't take things too seriously and we have a lot of confidence! They have like 500 songs so if you don't like one, there's no problem, eventually you'll find something to like 🤣 They don't even like some of their own songs, so it's all ok. Oh and this song is so much better live! SJ is usually much better live, and they do wear a lot of suits. SJ is a very very vocal heavy group, songs like Raining spell for love (the remix) is a good exemple. Ohhh BTW don't know if someone pointed out and our colour is BLEU!! Yes they are still together, they all did the MS, they almost never stop, they are planning the 20th anniversary planing next year, this year they debuted a new sub-unit (oh the concept of sub-units comes from them)... so yeah even if there's only 9 active members now, they are still going strong! 💙

Their songs are so amazing, some are extremely funny like Mamacita, but they also have sad vocal heavy songs. They actually have the first ever sub-unit. Supe junior KRY (Kyuhyun, Reowook and Yesung, I'm pretty sure I misspelled the name of K &R) they are the other golden trinity of vocals (like Chen- Baekhyun and Kyungsoo) 😊 Also Ryowook? Is getting married soon and is the first one on SuJu to do so.

This song was everywhere and still is always played. Fandom is ELF's (Ever Lasting Friends) and they are currently 10 members still actively promoting with an extensive discography. They have a lot of fun then also beautiful songs. But I would say they are the fun party bringers song wise of the SM groups. Since you are fans of NCT, Super Junior was supposed to have a similar concept, but it changed, that Super Junior is the main promoted group while the sub-units get come backs here and there. They had many sub groups but now only 3 are active. Super Junior K.R.Y is the the first ever sub-unit in kpop and is for the 3 main vocalists so... lots of ballads. Super Junior D&E for Donghae and Eunhyuk and now the new sub-unit Super Junior L.S.S. There was Super Junior M for Chinese promotions which had two additional member that only ever promoted with Super Junior M and are not in Super Junior so you could say somewhat similar/opposite to when Shotaro and Sungchan were in NCT and only promoted with NCT/NCTU songs and never were in a set unit.
