Reminds me of a takeoff in Denver in September when it was in the high 90’s. It was the longest takeoff roll I have ever been on.

I know this is an old video, but perhaps some clarity is needed. Runway 31L at PSP has a displaced threshold on both runway ends. So while it may have appeared to have used all the runway, in reality there was another 3000+ feet of runway still available despite seeing the touchdown zone of the opposite runway go wizzing by. There was still room to spare, and the title of this video is somewhat misleading as the displaced threshold on both runway ends ARE available for the takeoff run.

A 739 takes up more runway than the 738. Even when I was on a 738 flight from Miami to ORD, pilot took up almost the entire runway on takeoff. Its possible that the pilot used little power on takeoff.

In your case, pilot could've been using a reduced power setting. In my case, the plane was just dealing with high heat and density altitude. Palm Springs was about 105*F at the time of departure.

The pilot : *we paid the whole runway, we use the whole runway*

For a 739 they weren't heavy, its the heat. It could've been over 100f

@@pilerks1 I don’t know about cargo and fuel, but there were no open seats in the cabin. It was about 90*F that morning.
