Thanks. I'm so used to speed running Super Mario 64 that it's taking me quite a bit of time to getting used to the physics in Super Mario 3D Land. At least it's challenging in a good way. Normally you would do a long jump to get more speed in Super Mario 64.

My W1-1 speed run time is 28. :) It's really tricky though, you have to press 3 buttons with one finger at once.

I think Roll jumping because it's kind of like Donkey Kong Country Returns or Wario land shake it. You're at your max speed for a longer duration with roll jumping than with Long jumping. But Long jumping allows you to control your jumps better so you don't accidently overshoot. But ultimately, roll jumping is faster.

7-1:SKIP level with tanooki.. Go to the edge where you can see the flag Then jump and with combinations of your tail and wall jumps,you'll get over the gap and reach the flag!

I wish the infinite 1ups thing wasn't in the game. I felt this game was a little too easy to begin with (especially after Galaxy 2). I didn't feel challenged until halfway through the special worlds, and even then I never died more than two or three times a level. The infinite lives just emphasized the over-easiness even more. And, despite it being a selling point, the Tanooki tail just made it feel broken. It's a great game, and a nice tribute, but it's not like Mario 3 - a TRUE challenge.

in world 7-1 you can use the tanooki suit to jump over the fence thats blocking the island with the flag. if you use that trick you can beat 7-1 in under 10 seconds. sorry 4 bad grammar
