I've noticed that in a lot of newer Mario games, the main overworld, snow, and athletic (or Slider in this case) themes are all related. It's really neat
I love how the accordion is also a bass line. One song I'd love to see desconstructed is the New Super Mario Bros. U Overworld Theme, it's one song I've been looking forever deconstructed but never found.
I feel stupid for noticing this just now but Cool Cool Mountain sounds extremely similar to Bob-omb Battlefield It can't be a coincidence that they sound similar
Nope! Almost all the main level themes are remixes of the same motif: Bob-Omb Battlefield, Cool Cool Mountain, and Slider for sure. It’s common in many older Mario games: SMW, 64, and Sunshine I can think of off the top of my head
Most of the soundtrack is made of the same motif. It even applies to the opening theme for the game when you start a new save file and get the cinematic of lakitu flying around the castle entryway before Mario comes out of the pipe.
could you maybe do one of the snow tracks from giana sisters ds? specifically this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5fL9TDCdYX4.html it would also fit the season really well also anouki village from zelda spirit tracks or route 216 from pokemon d/p/pt or shiver star from kirby and the crystal shards and of course "under the ice" from mario pinball land walrus cove from diddy kong racing is another classic and world 5 from new super mario bros. or pretty much any song from the first mario&sonic at the olympic wintergames for ds, mostly the campaign songs tho, specifically icepeak and polarstraits, and maybe also an arrangement of dream skijumping sorry, those were a bit more than i expected i didn't mean to spam requests or anything, i just wanted to make some winter-themed suggestions that i felt could be possible to deconstruct feel free to take them, or not
