Draw on 4 pieces of paper and tape them to a box them to a box showing 4 drawings of drawings Mario on the ground, getting ready to jump, show his shadow disappearing as he jumps, show him still in the air without the shadow, then on the ground but next to a flag pole for a simple 4 animations jumping scene. The N64 was developed with Silicon Graphic’s and Ultra with Nintendo, Silicon Graphics is who made the games 3D environment, without it, we’d so back to playing star fox hearing rumors about how mario 64 originally started as an SNES game, but the super fx chip was made to support Mario 64.
The closest thing to imagine would be Yoshi’s Story since it was a follow up to Yoshi’s Island. But yeah it never occurred to me that Super Mario World had a gap all the way till New Super Mario Bros Wii.
