"In essence it is a Remake of the pirate cartridge Super Bros. 8, one of those pirate cartridges that were everywhere in flea markets in the ’90s. The original game, Don Doko Don 2, was developed by Natsume and published by Taito exclusively in Japan in 1992. Because its creators never bothered to hide the fact that they were inspired by Nintendo’s mascot, this game is an excellent basis for creating a hack that feels like an official Mario game, or at least, a third-party installment made with Nintendo’s permission."

The guys at Natsume never hid the fact that they were inspired by SMB3 to create this game (there is even an easter egg in world 2 that refers to the plumber). Maybe that's why, of the many Mario bootlegs, this one feels the most natural.

I played Super Mario Bros 8 was just this game but worst and not in English so i think this is a rom hack of the Super Mario Bros 8 of the bootleg one
