To get the exact version we played here you need the Chinese bootleg Super Mario Bros. 8 and this translation patch: www.romhacking.net/translations/2198/ But there's now a better SMB8 hack with more Mario graphics, I'd recommend that one: www.romhacking.net/hacks/6062/
All that can be found is only recreations, the actual original is impossible to find anywhere online, and applying that translation patch to any of the existing copies online results in a broken title screen or the game breaking entirely
@@captain_jerkass this is the exact one I have down the the kilobytes, minus the translation patch dendy.club/dendy/3390-super-mario-bros-8-unl.html it's possible the title screen broke for me too and I fixed it in editing. I remember that was an issue with some Mario bootlegs but not sure which ones.
@@NintendoDuo The patch has more than just translation data in it, it has new titlescreen graphics that overwrite the existing graphics causing them to break
