When Mario opens his eyes, he fires the death ray, so that's why it looks like he doesn't have eyes, because he has to close his eyes to stop the death ray from firing.

In 2-1 when you death ray'd the multi-coin block you also hit a single coin block offscreen. From the optimal position like you had here and early on in 1-2 you get 182 coins from a multi-coin block. When shooting Bowser with the death ray, you get 1000 points in 200 point increments before getting the big 5000 from actually beating him. Not sure if that means it takes 5 hits or 6.

(4:44) Looks like you got five "200"s from the laser hitting Bowser before he actually died, so 5 hits, but it's practically instantaneous, since it only took 5 frames to do the job. (5:14) That was a weird clip through that pipe. (5:23) Very interesting. This clipping glitch could have practical uses somewhere. (5:54) 183-coin combo! Ah, so it can vary slightly. (6:16) Oh, no! Someone made the Bloopers death-ray-proof! (6:47) The Cheep-Cheeps are death-ray-proof too! (7:23) Ah, but you can zap the Cheep-Cheeps up here, so it must be the water itself that makes your death ray harmless to the aquatic life. (8:20) Podoboos being death-ray-proof doesn't surprise me too much. You can normally only kill them with a star or a shell in the original games. (And there aren't any stars in levels with Podoboos naturally, and only one level with a shell that can hit a Podoboo in the Lost Levels, which is World A-4.) (8:30) The jump didn't jump. (8:38) The jump didn't jump again. (12:48) The zap didn't zap! (14:44) Weird, there's normally only one Parakoopa hopping down the stairs at the end of 8-2 here, at least in the original game. Did Mari0 add that second one? (15:07) I'm not sure why you didn't go for the Fire Flower there, since you had taken damage earlier. (15:17) Yeah, as you pointed out here, Mari0 omitted a power up here, which is supposed to be in the second brick block from the left on the top row.

No, It doesnt place any blocks and neither acts as spikes, it probably creates and entity wich increases the hitbox that does kill enemies or destroy brick blocks of Mario. If it ain't like that then it has probably separate hitbox from Mario's but reacts the same.

5:53 183 coins. Wasn't a hard calculation, the coin counter was at 62, ended up at 45, you got two 1-ups in the process, so (200 + 45) - 62 is 183.

This mod reminds me of an old anime by the title "Digi Charat". One of the mains has the ability to produce beams from her eyes when she yells "Me Kara Biimu!" (Literal translation: "Beam from the eyes!") ... And now I can't help but imagine Mario going "Me Kara Beam-a!" Over and over during this playthrough. XD
