@@ScouBsmk It has an active community of people who don't suck, that realize the game isn't "dated". It's been a thing going around lately. Even the recent WatchMojagoff list coudn't resist a swipe at it. It's one of the most well "dated" games ever. But because a whole wave of people are coddled by less difficult games, they quickly realize they suck at the OG. Then WAAAHHH whine "da controlz r dated!"
If you played Mario kart on she's growing up and you was even half decent at it.....then you have appreciate how ridiculously good at it this guy is because I honestly don't see how you get round those tracks any quicker than buddy did it here. I'm just saying yo.

Gonna have to check my brother's Mario Kart cartridge. I used to play as DK Jr. and I had a good time on Ghost Valley 1 (at least I thought so back in the day).
Wow, I’ve always played this game with Koopa Troopa or Toad and dominated my friends. I mean dominated anyone that ever played me over the years. This is a whole nother aspect. Playing with Donkey Kong or Bowser always felt weird. I guess I have another game inside of a game to learn. This is magical and legendary!

Koopa or Toad are just cusual level. They aren't the best to begin with. Bowser or Donkey Kong Jr are the best on the field; they're just another level of skill from above the others. Speedrunner, tt runners and smk championship are always used this duo of heavy weight.
Serious question, I’m very into time trials. Best time so far is 1’01”13… I cannot take shortcut into dirt it slows me down. How are you able to do this?
@@dr_pepsi_4831 are you playing on PAL or NTSC version of the original SNES? Or on one of the re-release versions such as the SNES Mini Classic or the Nintendo Switch Online version (those are all NTSC as well)? If you are playing NTSC it is a bit too early to do off road boosting. It would be recommended to aim for a sub minute first with the hop jumping, then learning the off road boosting techniques. Hey Scoub, I'm really picking this game up lately and trying to dedicate time to get decent at it. Learned a lot of tips and tricks so far, but for the life of me I can't find how to do a drift mini-boost? Either I drift too long and spin out or not enough. Any tips? Thanks. (Also nice video)

It's an advanced technique. Whenever you get a boost after a long powerslide, you can cut through the grass. You'll hear the engine speed up, which tells you that you can cut through the grass without loosing any speed. You can do this weird zigzag thing which let's you do it even on shallow turns. Takes practice. I can barely do it
It’s a bit controversial as Marisa didn’t want us to add the time on our rankings. This plus the extreme difficulty of the technique made some people within the community doubtful about the legitimacy of it. Im personally believing this is legit and just the result of a terrific grind especially as we know Japanese players are often track specialists focusing all their effort on a single (or a few) track in the game. That’s why I’m currently trying to beat it, but the grind didn’t result in any success so far ( not even a new PR for me yet) but my sum of best gives a low 59"xx so there’s potential, just getting the consistency is damn hard.

It would be interesting to hear the engine noise also. I don't get how this works but I've mainly only played the SNES version. I know you get a boost out of power slides on the later versions but wasn't aware you did on SNES. Just got my old one working again so will have a go.
