And when it got dark out and you couldn't see the screen, you'd ask your dad if you could turn on the light in the backseat... but he'd say no, because "it's illegal".
I got this game at the airport in 1993 when we went on holiday to Barbados. I played this game every night before bed for those 2 weeks. Hearing the music and sound effects reminds me of the wonderful holiday 27 years ago. I was 10!!
Mario Land 2 is a classic game that's been made even better - the color graphics really show off what an impressive, good-looking game this was on the Game Boy. Happy New Year, everybody!
NintendoComplete, This Is a F**KING IPS File, Any of you got some sort of idea of how to patch Mario Land 1&2 IPS files to play them via android device (this is the only way I can play these games since I don't have a PC).
Man, seeing this game in color just reminds me how impressive the graphics were on the original when it dropped. It had Super Mario World-esque graphics on the gameboy. I’d kill for the absolute best of the gameboy to get a collection release on the Switch
Tengo 42 años y conozco casi todos los juegos de SMB en todas las consolas…nunca podré superar a Mario Bros, este es y será el mejor juego que nunca haya existido. En especial el tan recordado Mario Bros 3
Congratulations for earning a RU-vid channel total of 52,800,000 worldwide video views!! This is my favorite Super Mario Land game ever, because you can win, NintendoComplete!!
1:15:48 There is a small mistake. Wario throws a shoe, but still has 2 shoes on his feet. Aside from that, this *fanmade - Remaster* is really well done.
I had this song stuck in my head for years and I didn’t know where it came from and I kept looking for it and I’ve finally found it :) I’m very happy right now
Thank you ! This has been one of my favourite games since I was a child. My father bought me a brand new game boy classic + this game when their were new on the market. This was so good back in the days and it still is !
SigmaDraconis87 Thing is that those were not part of "identity" or anything special, they were made to differentiate, like Samus' shoulder pads in Metroid 2.
I had a color version of the game and, I remember their being a feathered cap and hearts. Of course it was one where you could change to all sorts of different colors lmao
Yesterday,I had an idea for a new 2D Mario platformer. The plot would be that a new island emerges to the surface and begin to flood the Earth with magic, which is lethal for the wildlife,so Princess Peach send Mario and Luigi an letter for an important meeting in her castle. After, they go on a expedition to Stardust Island(the site where the game takes place),it's up to Mario and Luigi to explore the island to find 7 segments of a serum, and find the culprit. This game, instead of being another rehash of New Super Mario Bros Wii,it's a spiritual sequel of Super Mario Land 2(we acess the worlds in a huge map and we can play them in the order we want) with new powerups, unique bosses and level themes, lots of elements of the old Mario games and more
Amazed how good this looks, this was one of my favorite games growing up and whoever did this patch did gods work here. Wish Nintendo re released the first two mario lands on GBA carts like they did with the Advanced series.
i remember playing this as a kid in my mom's old shop in the flea market. Its one of those memory's I associate with the time I spent at the store and my mother. Good and bad memories. Time sure flies....
It's amazing: I did not even own a gameboy myself and yet I recognize/recall the melodies, the levels, even individual bumps, jump points and where to expect an enemy or pitfall. If only I would remember everything I ever occupied myself with that well :-)
I had this on my og Game Boy, along with NBA Jam, Earthworm Jim, and few more games. I couldn't remember the name, but as soon as I heard the music, I knew it was it. A very fun game that I spent many hours playing.
Never knew this even existed. Hard to watch knowing how good Super Mario World Advanced 2 was but the music is a proper throw back to the Looney Tunes games lol
@@jonespianist3189 Not quite the Carrot🥕 but the Helicopter Powerup in NSMB Wii and Wii U is essentially the same thing except you can't hover forever.
Super Mario Maker DLC Idea: Super Mario Land 2 Black and White and Colors -Mario can perform his spin-drill ability just by holding down on the control-pad, just like the original game, except he can now do it as Small Mario, too! He can bounce on things like Piranha Plants, Spinys, Thwomps, and many others! -Bowser has his own move set! (just like SMB3 and SMW!) So whenever Bowser raises his arms (likes he flexing, or something, as you can see), and gets ready to blow out fire, he will aim for the ground, and create large fire pillars from he ground, and continues to move forward until it comes to a stop! Be careful not to touch them! -The goal post is replaced with a bell pole, just like the original game! Well, you earn points from passing through the pole, similar to SMW. He earns more point depending on the height of the pole he touches on, and touching the bell earns you with a 1-UP! (Make sense, huh?) -Yoshi is used instead, since it came out after Super Mario World -There will be a Bunny Suit power up
It's amazing that there were no 2d traditional Mario Platformers between this game and New Super Bros on the DS 14 years later, and even if you count Yoshi's Island, that was still an 11 year gap.
I used to play this on the original Game Boy whenever my old man would go to the local laundry mat. Damn this was a fun one. Especially with space zone music.
They never really acknowledge it, but at 22:26 that is Tatanga in his Pagosu II. Bet Wario paid him off somehow then hypnotized him and everybody else.
I don't want to say I'm not appreciative but I'd prefer this on the original GB colors. I think the GBC was super limited and the original GB gives most people their memories. Thank you either way
The rabbit ears didn’t add any special attack. However if you held down A Mario would hop continuously. Also you can swim through the tree sap easily by holding down A. Always loved the athletic theme from this game.
The fact that game over resets the whole game: bruh I literally just turned off my gameboy before it registers that I lost my last life. Never got past that space alien boss, furthest I ever got was 5 coins and resetting my gameboy every time I lost to that freaking alien still EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Well despite being a sequel to the gameboy launch title Super Mario Land, this game actually looks more like usual Mario games with the enemies, coins, mushrooms and question blocks. In fact dare I say it, this game looks a lot like Super Mario World, a game that has frequently been referenced in Mario games since then.
I played this a lot as a kid. And i'll share something i found out by accident, a funny glitch but can be exploited a bit. After completing a level with tubes you can enter it again and, if i recall correctly, you can pause the game mid going down on a tube, leave the level and wend you enter a another one Mario will move through the ground and fall into a zone of random squares with all the terrains and bonus. You can die there if you touch anything deadly, stock up on coins, power ups etç.
Really nice to see this one in colors. In every Mario game feather/carrot makes the game way more easy ^^ And still in every Mario I played, final boss is easy to defeat (unless maybe in Super Mario Land I)
Vibrant, vibrant colors. :D If you haven't played it already, I think there's a "deluxe" hack of Super Mario Land 1, too, that you should check out. I like how the 1-up hearts were replaced with 1-Up Mushrooms in this hack, and that Fire Mario doesn't have a feather in his cap here. D:
I wish this would’ve really happened, it helps it feel more like a real Mario game. It is a real Mario game, it’s just always had this different feel to it, and this color palette helps kinda buffer that out.
