Wow now this video helps me. Took months to get fairly consistent with this. I made a level with three of these jumps and then an optional pipe with three more, just for more practice.

GaminRage thanks man! Vertically is the same inputs, but if you keep missing, try dropping it a little earlier. Also, you might not get as much height doing it vertically
P-Switch jumping was probably a glitch, so Nintendo made it harder to do after discovering it, rather than removing it from the game, as it’s a popular trick. I don’t like the change either, though.
If you mean the one on the Super Nintendo, then yes. The frame perfect jump off a p-switch is actually known as a "yump", and requires some practice to do consistently.

How much clearer could I be? :P The P-Switch jump is hard because the physics of a P-Switch are weird. But it's basically the same thing as the spring jump, but with more precise timing. I recommend practicing spring jumps until you are good at them, then try the P-Switch jumps
