I don't know why, but I get the feeling that combining the Classic Cap and the Caveman Outfit produces...GRAND results. ...also, Mario looks really nice in Topper's outfit and the Knight armor.
I was really disappointed when I found out that the 8-bit Mario cap had no animation and was just a still statue. But it's pretty funny to mess around with nonetheless.

Did you know that if you press Y, you can randomise your hat/outfit, and every time you die on the game, it will randomly change Mario's hat/outfit, however a lot of the times, Mario's hat/outfit will be mismatched.

No its just a random outfit that was next to Luigi's cap. Luigi already has a full costume. And whenever you have a full costume, there's cheering and clapping. But with the skeleton outfit and Luigi cap...it doesn't. So yeah

The cheers don't happen if the hat and the outfit aren't of the same set. As there's no suit associated to boxer shorts, no cheers. Notice that the same happens with the skeleton suit: there's no skeleton hat, so no cheers.
I wish I was a good enough gamer to be able to have all the costumes. I can't even defeat the first of the bosses in the Sand Kingdom, or get past the Cloud Kingdom.
