I love the scene where Mario and Bowser share a moment. They both get rejected from the very thing they want. Bowser kidnaps Peach while Mario will save her risking his life for her. Honestly, One of the most relatable and touching moments from this touching game in general.

Would let someone with an obvious crush on you fix your car, do your laundry or pay your bills when you have no intention of ever being in a relationship with that person? Would you let that person keep doing that stuff for a month, let alone entire years? Point is she knows full well Mario wants them to be more than just friends while she doesn't yet she keeps on relying on him to solve her problems for her. And sorry, that's just messed up on her part.
@@princesspeach7936 Even oblivious Luigi had it all figured it out by the time of the first paper Mario game, there is just no way Peach didn't knew. At most I can see her being caught by surprise that Mario had the balls to ask when on previous occasions, yes this wasn't the first or even second time Mario crashed one of her forced weddings to rescue her, he chose to keep silent.
The ending was a little frustrating, but Peach was being overwhelmed and put on the spot. Besides, Mario doesn't just save the Princess because he likes her, but also because it's just the right thing to do. He also knows Peach keeps the Mushroom Kingdom safe with her heart magic which repels evil magic: one of the original reasons why Bowser constantly kidnapped her outside of a crush.
"Her heart magic repels evil magic". She can also use it to defeat extradimensional dark knights...and still can't defend herself against Bowser. I think she just gets a kick out of getting rescued by Mario.
Don't feel too bad Mario. Peach has had a long couple of days, being fawned over by Bowser and pressganged into a shotgun wedding. She's just not in the mood for flowers.

Exactly, I approached Peach and I was expecting a cutscene, then I saw Bowser and I thought “But of course!”. It was so surprising yet familiar, and it made so much sense for the ending of this game.
What's a great way to end Super Mario Odyssey? Why, possess and turn into Bowser himself in order to rescue Princess Peach! When I first saw the video for that, my mind was clearly boggled!
I always laugh at the scene where Mario and Bowser are friend zoned. Mario freaks out when Bowser tries to offer peach flowers (like he even has a shot with her!). And then after peach has had enough, they’re consoling each other. Makes me laugh every time.
I personally loved the scene, too. It's like, the Princess just got saved from a kidnapping and near forced marriage, and they narrowly escaped the cave with their lives. Not the correct timing for marriage proposals. 😝
Peach likes both Mario and Bowser... she just doesn't want to marry them. I bet that's how Bowser allways kidnaps her. He goes "I got you something" she's like "oh, cool a present" then he just grabs her and runs off with her 🤣

That final level was AWESOME!! Playing as Bowser was a dream come true for me in this game especially since he’s my favorite character! When I got to the chapel, I was clutching my wedding Bowser amiibo cuz I knew what was going to come! That ending did make me feel bad for him tho. Poor guy. :(
@Candi The animal Except Mario didn't try to force her to do anything. He just offered her a flower after traveling the entire world and to the moon to save her. She doesn't have to accept the flower, but she's a psycho bitch for stealing his ship and trying to leave him on the moon.
How was this even a choice Mario is human peach is I assume also human but a giant turtle ..... why would have a hard time choosing . And for the record don't give me that BS he pressured her for more than 20 year my boy Mario nearly dies and this is the thanks he gets. And people wonder why bowsette was a thing

I have. Besides the beginning and ending, as far as cut scenes and set pieces in the form of stages, Galaxy was very light in comparison, but I loved both of those games!
It really isn't. In most games, when you have a super cool ability, there's always some enemies/bosses that it doesn't work on. Someone playing the game for the first time would be like "WOAH WE CAN CAPTURE BOWSER???" On their first, unspoiled play through.
I was beating the game for my kid the other day. I kept sneaking looks at him. When we took over Bowser and again when the song started, he broke into this huge smile. Thanks Nintendo. --From a dad who started his Mario journey in 1987
yeah really. I guess this is the final one and Bowser might help Mario save the world in the next game! Or maybe Bowser finally gets a game all about him that isn't Inside Story!! :D
This ending hits different now with Charles retiring, but I'm glad to experience all of it along the way. It's been quite the ride. Thank you, Charles Martinet. You numba one!
i picked up odyssey in 2022, suuuper late, but when playing it i had no idea there was another vocal track at the end and it suprised me in the best way possible. such a good song. i still think galaxy is the best mario game (and hell, imo the best game ever) but this game is a close second.
Next time you play, go to a quiet spot like the inside of the _Odyssey_ and set the controller down for a few minutes so that Mario falls asleep and starts sleep-talking. 95% of his dreams are about Italian food, but every so often he'll talk about Peach instead. (And yes, it's just as adorable as it sounds.)
I loved everything about this boss from the goofy boxing glove hat, the amazing escape, and not to mention how adorable it is that Bowser combed his hair so nicely.

Wait when Bowser had Mario and Cappy falling into the pit at the wedding, why didn’t Bowser just stay up there and continue the marriage instead of go down with Mario and fight him? Wasn’t his goal to marry Peach? He totally had Mario out of his way for enough time to get married.

FlameLFH The REAL problem with this ending is that it has unnecessarily done something that the series has never done before, it's divided the fanbase into picking sides between Mario and Peach over who's in the right. Every other game results in a happy ending with nothing to worry about, but this one is handled in such a way that at least one (if not both) of them is painted in a negative light, depending on how you interpret the ending scenes. It's either "Mario was a total idiot, all of Peach's actions were totally justified." or "Peach is ungrateful and Mario deserves better for all the effort he goes through." ect. Even if you're unbiased, that just means that you end up seeing them both as being partially in the wrong, because it's handled in such a way that they CAN'T both be totally innocent like usual this time. It's really such a shame, because they probably just meant it as a lighthearted comedic moment, but due to how it was executed, it caused one of their best games yet to end on a sour note that's anticlimactic at best, and needlessly controversial at worst.
Man when I first saw that moment where Mario takes over Bowser and you see his memories from previous games, it hit me right in the feels... RIGHT IN THE FEELS DAMMIT!!!
I like what they did with "(Break Free) Lead The Way". Not only does it sound like a Sonic song, it plays during the final boss, which was the case in so many Sonic games with rock music (Live And Learn, Open Your Heart, etc.).
This game is still a total masterpiece. There’s literally not a single flaw I can think of. Clever plot, likable characters, arguably the best physics and controls in a 3D platformer, authentic concepts (like the “capturing” gameplay and the 2D moments), brilliant level design and freedom, attractive graphics, cool locations, and great music!
Friendzone is OK. Never saying Thank You to him, is unacceptable though. I am constantly flaming about that X( Also note that Bowser ruined everything in the end.

pauline sings a whole song in the city's celebration event for mario to thank mario for what he did for her, but peach, peach does absolutely nothing, not even a thank you.
After seeing this ending, I can safely say that Mario should just get back together with Pauline. Sure Peach gives Mario cake every once in a while but Pauline starts a festival for Mario for just beating up a generic robot wiggler. Mario had to go around the whole damn world just to save Peach but gets rejected as soon as Bowser screws the proposal up. EDIT: Ok, maybe Pauline's festival is a tradition but the festival still shows that Pauline still cares about Mario and thanks him completely for saving her city.

Mario saving Peach is something he's pretty okay with by now (especially since he clearly still loves her). Otherwise, he would've stopped trying a long time ago. Pauline and Mario are just old friends at this point and have kept in touch for a while since they broke up. I think after several years of staying just friends, I'm pretty sure they're both fine with their current relationship. And so am I. It's refreshing to see a purely platonic relationship like theirs. Mario kinda screwed his proposal up by trying to get Peach to marry her right after almost being forced to marry Bowser (again) just a second ago. Makes sense that she wouldn't go for that and I'm glad she didn't. And she wasn't about to strand anyone. She said "let's go home" to Mario and Bowser, so clearly she intended on them to go back with them on the Odyssey. Dunno why people keep thinking that.
One moment where Peach gets upset with Mario does not mean Mario x Peach is gone forever. Relationships are not perfect and Mario and Peach are not exempted from this... I mean, this is at least good this ending is different considering that in the past Mario games, Peach usually kisses Mario and then just ride off into the sunset. So good job with that ending!!!
Tbh I can tell most people who are bashing Peach in this ending are the ones who has always kept saying that Peach's a bitch before Odyssey came out...
Toaster Strudel, yes that is true. You will get a decent amount of time playing it but you will get LOADS of time collecting all the moons, souvenirs and all those stuff to 100% the game.
Awww come on guys, Peach did not reject Mario. She was feeling overwhelmed and pressured because Mario and Bowser were literally shoving flowers right into her face. And before the Odyssey really took off she called out for Mario. Give the poor woman a break, she still clearly loves Mario! She was more than willing to help him by giving him Power Moons during the post game, after all.
