It's worthy to note that we all got 1st try Early M, Gelato Skip, Yoshi Skip, Honey Skip, and EYG. It's rare that you see that happen between four runners. Noki 6 is also an honorable mention. Hope you guys enjoyed the race :)

To put this in perspective of how close this was, the final times between the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd finishers would place them at 25th, 26th and 28th in the world, respectively. What an amazing race!

Near the end they get into why Luigi isn't in Sunshine, and it's because Sunshine comes before Mansion. This makes sense because King Boo is getting back at Mario for Sunshine in Mansion.

4:52 - "(Square) had put a lot of effort into 3d peripherals like the Virtual Boy that turned out to totally flop." I'm assuming he just choked because he was nervous on camera, because Square had nothing to do with the Virtual Boy, which was released something like a DECADE after Final Fantasy 1 came out anyway.

if StrongManLin didn't get gooped, his final time would have been about 1:18:38, meaning the time difference in a 4-way race between the first and last place would have been only 43 seconds! That's 16 (1-2) + 11 (2-3) + 16 (3-4). That would have been such a close race... Still though, amazing runs all around. Those BounceyBoy fails on Noki 6 though, what was that? xD

I'm sad nobody has figured out in Pianta Village Shine 2, when II Piantisimo gets up there, at the right time talk to the lady at the same time trigger Piantisimo's text and it saves about a second because it triggers both texts, bit only the lady's text shows up. After that the Shine appears

One thing I hate with this game is that you don't unlock anything by collecting all the shine sprites.

No. In galaxy you get extra levels and extra endings. In 64 you get ability to fly.

At 10 shine sprites you unlock pinna park. At 20 shine sprites you unlock Noki Bay. At 30 and 35 you unlock the rocket and turbo nozzles respectively. Also you unlock Gelato Beach and Ricco Harbor at 2 and 3 shines respectively

SMS has so much to offer both casually and especially in speedrunning: Tons of movement options and little exploitable stuff coupled with a few bigger glitches (but no gamebreaking ones) to keep the watcher entertained. Add this couch and those runners and you got yourself an excellent run. Loved it! Btw, is the dude on the left side of the couch (from our perspctive) TheCrimsonBlur, a quite famous Melee commentator and tournament host?
