I don't really do platinum videos but I figured I might as well since I uploaded the no death runs, and well it's SMB which a lot of people recognise as a hard plat. So I didn't mean to pop this just yet. I was cleaning up bandages for I'm A Golden God! and it popped 3 short of 100 making it my 174th plat. I forgot to realise the game goes up to 107%, meaning I did a glitched level at some point that counted toward it. I didn't have my Elgato running so I've instead stitched a bunch of PS5 recordings together
In terms of difficulty, you can expect a relatively rough experience no matter how well versed you might be in platformers. Those who are less exposed like myself might have a more troublesome time - Impossible Boy, Girl Boy and Zombie Boy are responsible for the bulk of my playtime and deaths (the first 2 in particular). Cleaning everything up after that I found to be smooth and quick. I went after the trophies in reverse order, which is usually not the most optimal way to tackle a game that has a learning curve to it. I don't regret it but I'm curious if I'd have had an easier time going in order
It's not responsible for my worst/hardest trophy experience so far -- a lot of trophy youtubers and game websites coin this platinum as one of, if not the hardest platinum on PSN. That's far from the truth as the harder titles just don't have anywhere near as much of a spotlight or exposure. I'd say it doesn't even make a true top 10, but those lists are subjective. What I can say is this platinum can still be very difficult, it's definitely one of the harder plats and is a staple completion that belongs under the belt of any challenge seeker. I'd best describe it as frustrating but doable - in the end your ability/muscle memory could be there but your nerves still get the better of you; those that do go on to finish it are just more patient
A shout out to Potent_Delusions for having watched 70% of my SMB journey via streams lol
