I’m surprised that after so many times Peach got kidnapped, Mario doesn’t live in her castle to keep her safe, lmao. Like, is he not paranoid every single day? Even Luigi shares a house with him I mean, they are brothers and he’s the only canonically related member of his family but, I’m pretty sure besides that, since Luigi has gotten kidnapped quite a few times as well, he feels safer knowing that he can see immediately him everyday.

52:40 The reason Dimentio deals so little damage even though his attack is 256 times stronger is not because his original damage is so weak, but x256 causes the stats to overflow in computer language and return his attack to x1.

That would be a cool reference, but the game explains how Dimension D strengthens everyone inside it. Both Dimentio and the heroes become 256 times stronger, cancelling each other out. The dialogue explaining this appears after beating Dimentio for the first time, but the video cuts it out.

to this day, Dimentio has one of my favorite teleportation effects in all media. There's just something very satisfying about it, especially for something going between realities rather than just across space. Also I love how the whole game you're seeing the villains meeting on little boxes suspended in the middle of this weird black void and when you get there you find out that the floor was like two inches out of frame the whole time.

Taking this game into account, had Bowser succeeded in marrying Peach in Oddysey, it would have brought about the end of reality. Mario probably doesn't even have a thing for Princess Peach, he just can't keep bringing home the bacon from his plumbing trade if all the pipes are destroyed in a massive cataclysm.

@@sinteleon The first three games emphasize that the aesthetics is an art style rather than the reality of the world, where if you translate them to 3D storytelling, it still works - not so much for the later ones, as they are more like crafted world (ala Lego Movie) that doesn't seem to fit the Mario worldbuilding as well.

Man, games like this really make me wish Nintendo hadn’t decided to start limiting original characters for these games. Francis is hilarious, and Blumiere and Timpani’s story is so compelling, a storyline like this is so much more enthralling than “go stop the origami man and his *evil* stapler”

i honestly love Dimentio, he saves peach from being brainwashed because he needed all 4 heroes to enact the dark prognosticus, sends all 3 of the guys to the underwhere to fix the pure heart, makes luigi upset so they have a one on one to get him ready for the final fight, comes in after count bleck has his fight and they used the pure hearts on the weaker villain, hell, he even had a plan B incase his initial plan were to somehow fail, god Dimentio is amazing character design

This game somehow feels like complete fan-fiction, but it isn't, and I love it. The story of Count Blumiere and Lady Timpani was really sweet, and Count Bleck's evil gang being friends was also really sweet. Peach and Bowser get some great character moments. And everything else is just pure memes. This game is the whole package. Thank you RT for showing me this lovely game

It's really weird but Peachs character at the time flip-flopped between the standard damsel in distress and a smack-talking adventure queen wielding powerful magic (in Strikers she was just straight up a diva). Which makes her still being kidnapped to this day just confusing to me, she could easily kick Bowsers ass or just bully him out of his own castle. I honestly wish they'd bring that side of her back and show more of her actually ruling the kingdom.

I remember reading the Super Paper Mario strategy guide and being taught that Bowser + Carrie were a great team since that Pixl allows Bowser to breathe fire in the air. Also, Barry is great against ranged enemies since he can deflect attacks back at them... and just be used as a shield against regular attacks/bumping into folks.

If you go back to Weird Lizard Guy's house than he will offer you the opportunity to buy a robot version of Tippi who knows she's not the original but also is programmed to think she's Tippi leading to the only character with both the rainbow text-box outline of a Pixi while having the text-box shape of the robot characters.

@@theawsomealexgames When you're buying Tippitron, (the name of the robot Tippi) she'll act confused about being called by that name and insist her name is just Tippi. But you can also scan yourself, a mechanic normally used to give you hints. Do this with Tippitron, and you get the only scan dialogue that the normal Tippi can't give you. Tippitron talks about how great of a hero you are for saving everything before saying "At least, I think that's what she would have said. . ." These two contradicting moments seems to imply that Tippitron has something of an identity crisis.

Funfact: in german, count Bleck is called Graf (count) Knickwitz. His catchphrase is "Knickedicknack!" I dont know why, but its terrible and amazing at the same time.

And it's pronunciation is even more of a doozy because due to it's being German, it's not said like "Nicked-ick-nack" it's "kih-nick-eh-dick-nack" and it's really fast and when I first heard it in a German playthrough of the game I died laughing.
