Great review of the core 4 of the wave. Fair assessment of the scale issues, but man, they do look nice! Looking forward to getting the full wave this week! Oh, and love you back, buddy!
Just spitballing a bit here, McFarlane has not added lanterns to the last few Green lanterns they have put out. If McFarlane was to do a mail in giveaway for a free lantern when a customer sends in proof of purchase barcode, would this be something viable the company could do? What are your thoughts on this?
@@mtgamateurnight I think it would be a fun throwback to the mailaway campaigns Kenner used to run. But I think a future accessory pack is a more likely scenario.
Very glad McFarlane took the time to flip the S's on Bizarro. Things are looking better with this line for sure. Glad McFarlane is addressing these problems and keeps working towards a better product.
I'm with you. The scale sizes upset me. I own every original Kenner Super Powers figures including the Super Amigos Riddler. I only buy McFarlane figures of the ones that were never made. Maybe I'd buy the others if they would get the correct scale size down. It really is a problem. They look silly standing side by side.
Hey noticed that riddler kept falling over i found that super7 reaction figure stands work great with this line if you need some stands. Great review by the way
Thanks for your excellent review! Hope to watch soon the review of WW and Aquaman variant figures in this wave. A question: it looks like Bizarro is smaller than Superman. Is it an optical effect of the angle? Thanks!
Great review. I haven’t been as hung up on the scaling but this one definitely sticks out more than usual, especially with Superman & Batman who are the foundation of the line and it’s now tough to ignore… the Bulkiness of Riddler is frustrating … as everyone said, why not keep it a straight repaint of GL Keeping true to the Homage. Independently they look sharp, looking forward to the JSA 3 pack. Based on videos Gold WW looks like the best gold figure to date plus a lasso!!!! Aquaman is better than wave 4, but still disappointing and the laziest repaint to date in my view.
Yeah, a straight up repaint of GL for the Riddler would have been the best approach. I’m looking forward to the others, as well. And the next wave that just got revealed at NYC looks great. Fingers crossed on a couple of possible scale issues.
An interesting provisional overview. I'd like to offer some constructive criticism though - your reviews would improve with a stable camera arrangement as opposed to the handheld approach!
Yeah, that scaling is a major problem for this line - it's a shame as I love Super Powers! I hope it's not true that it's struggling... from my experience as a UK collector, these guys are not easy to get hold of, so it doesn't seem like it is to me , but we don't get them at retail (the first wave only was available in shops).
@@dazblue5515 i’m with you. I want them to succeed. I hope there is enough interest that the line can overcome a few of its mistakes. The potential is there.
They're selling out online and in stores. All the repaints they save a lot of money or make a lot of money on them because they use the same body just different paint. Another thing is that they're selling superpowers figures in online stores in México and they sell a lot and in countries in South America too. McFarlane makes a lot of money
