I knew something looked different I don't remember an SNES version I played this in the arcade and the man was see through green. And I couldn't beat the Asian dude that kept doing flying kicks off the turn buckle which isn't boxing lmao but oh well still fun
@@lifeisagambletvthey're different versions of Punch out. Two versions that came out for arcades and then home console versions for the NES, SNES, and Wii. In the arcade versions your character was see through green wire frame
I find it interesting that in this entire run you only had to block two or three times. This Punch Out favors aggressive and timed gameplay drastically.
@@madmaxx727 watch some of zallard1’s vids and see that this run is even slow and imprecise in a lot of places. That man has shown time and time again that all of these boxers can be beaten in less than 20 seconds
@@madmaxx727 guard manipulation is the term you are looking for. We'll maybe a brain as well, cuz you need to justify your incapability to be good at the game with "cheats" when it's simply a speed run strat that has been use since like.. Fucking forever.
Sir sloth Bear hugger tries to grab you, Masked Muscle is told to spit, Dragon Chan uses kicks, Hoy Quarlow uses a cane. None of those things are legal

@@WandererRonin I don't get why piston hurricane falls on his back but aran ryan falls on his belly. Like Every other palette swap falls the same for example dragon chan and Heike kagero.
The thing is Nintendo has tried for pseudo 3d with the virtual boy but the difference with super punch out and the virtual boy was super punch out had enough color to distinguish front and back
Adored this game as a kid. Still remember when I beat it on my SNES at ten years old. Believe it or not I actually used to be this good. Once you learn how counter punches work it opens up a new level of gameplay. Then later in my teens when emulation took off I was able to experiment with punching patterns using save states and got even better.
I wanted to see in punch out wii a secret mode after beating title defense and contender mode a secret mode where u fought all the super punch out characters with the exception on bear hugger, mad clown me sandman super macho man Aran Ryan and the rest of the characters who where in the punch out wii game

A nice cross section of nationalities, but Nintendo needs to make a another sequel on the Wii! BTW, Piston Hurricane from Cuba is the most bland out of them all.
hazard0us not sure how that would work. He would have a major disadvantage because he wouldn’t have extendable arms. And all the other characters are very ranged out. Little Mac wouldn’t be able to even get close to them.
I'd wager that an all-female Punch-Out!! game would sell better than another all-male one, if the gameplay was the same. They could still include Heike Kagero in it too.

One iteration I would enjoy is seeing a compilation with what the average player would do. Ones that don't do it perfectly. (Showing the devastating moves and effects the opponents do) I've seen a lot of these compilations where they absolutely destroy the bosses before they do anything.
The part where Bob Charlie stood up while the count was going on made my nephew laugh so much. He was watching me play this on emulator, even I laughed at that. I didn't expect that to happen, but it did lol
I find it wholesome with some of the quotes of the characters in the end credits like with Bob Charlie. Idk why but Bob seems like a chill dude to hang with
when i first played this game after beating mike tyson's punch out, seeing bald bull this early on made me panic remembering how rough he was on the NES. however, they must have extended the timing for the bull rush counter for this game because i beat him first try, vs the dozens of attempts for the previous game
