Well to me Mckenzie is a fantastic player and they did not loose because of him. He misses 3 kicks yes, but explain me why he has to kick the penalty after receiving a tackle in the air ? Aren't there any other kicker in the team ? To me they were also poor tactical choices in 2e half...why don't they score more with 15 men against 13 ? Anyway I am thankfull for this final and all players, again it was a great show and a great display of NZ rugby
I've just watched 2 finals (this one and Oz) with thousands of fans in the stands and some great rugby on show! Aussies and Kiwis, you are so lucky! Us lot up here in Europe are still under lock and key... you'd be lucky to get 100 people in the stadium up here!
Cracking game of rugby. Crusaders deserved the win but full credit to the chiefs for making it an interesting tournament. Looking forward to the Trans-Tasman.
@Jacobite Jones Nah mate. He's been finding nuts since high school, it's well documented. I'm a Saders fan but Damian had to be Richie, Havili and Will Jordan all at the same time for the Chiefs. He's the reason they even made it to the final.
No but the ref could be seen to have saved the Crusaders..lots of stuff that they got away with in final that im sure the chiefs would not have gotten away with if they'd done likewise.Still a great game no matter what the result.
3 talking points from this game: 1. Sevu Reece should have been a red, shoulder to the head is red, its been made clear the way referees have been officiating all over the world that that sort of tackle is now a red. Poor refereeing. 2. Mo'unga is on another plane of existence 3. The main reason the Chiefs are even in the final is because of Mackenzie, he can hold his head up high even though he didn't have a great game.
Agree with 2 & 3. Not with one. This interpretation of the rule is tricherous. If you aim with the head against the shoulder or the arm of a player already set for a tackle, he can't avoid the impact. High tackles need to be high, you need to have the intention to hit the upper side of the ball carrier.
@@Navigator_Isle too bad 'playing for pride' doesnt pay for the bills ay... maybe in your fantasy la la land this all happens but these poly players have big families to support.... hence why they scatter across the globe making up to millions of dollars $$$$ playing in england & japan.... Samoan politician's corrupted their own national rugby team back in 2011 stealing all the funds for their own agenda sending the team bankrupt....
Great final, definitely worth watching here in South Africa. Concrats to a great team The Crusaders! The Saders do seem to get a lot more out of the ref or maybe they are just that good? Wonder if Mackenzie played himself out of AB selection? He did well all season.
Mackenzie was superb in this final, he did more than any other Chiefs player to keep them in the game. Why do you think he has played himself out of selection for the ABs?
@@JMDrummer93 3 missed kicks and a bad in game kicking game. His running game was good though but I still think jordie/beauden are better 15s with jordan in at 14
He will be in ABs will come on in the last 20.Crusaders definitely have a large amount of calls go their way by the ref..yep you be the judge on that one.Major calls to in the context of the game result. Was a great game though.
I see a lot of people here talking about the bad calls they think the chiefs didn’t get, but the loss was all the chiefs fault. They didn’t want to win the game bad enough. The were relying on Dmac to win it for them in stead of going for line outs when the crusaders were down to 13. And kicking the ball away when they could have attacked with ball in hand when up by two players.
@@blaquenguni9249 mckenzie jumped to catch the ball, which he's entitled to do. Taylor tackled him recklessly in the air, he was extremely lucky not to get red, so was reece.
Saders lucky again with 2 cards that could easily have gone red. Reece is starting low and actually rising fast to hit high. It is not even reckless, it is intentional.
Skillwise and as a wholesome Player, He's the best 10. he has all the perks, Tactical kicking, Decision making, Attacking ability, Goal kicking, distributing ETC: But needs to prove himself at the international level
NZ has a small population compared to Argentina and is geographically placed as two small island out in the middle of nowhere so although its a country that has been in lockdowns it is able to control the spread of Covid 19 more easily..hence sports crowds.
I’m sorry but such a poor decisions making from the chiefs. Why not take a scrum or a line out when the crusaders r two man down especially if your kicker is on a bad day too actually get ahead with a try rather than just 3 points.
Certainly looks that way..but if so im sure their would have been a captains challenge..both angles are sorta inconclusive but it looks that way.Alot of crucial calls went against the chiefs and certain things that the crusaders did went completely unnoticed... Pretty sus if you ask me.
SBW flicks the ball over the deadball line against france and gets yellow carded and gives away a penalty try..George Bridge does the same against the Chiefs and nothing not even a penalty.Looked like Jordan pushed Mckenzie off the ball on the way to get the try..I could go on..head scratch.
@@Starboy-wz3jm "I'm a fruit person but I also love oranges"... rugby is football. Are you talking about Australian football, American, Gaelic, Canadian football? If you mean soccer just say that, or specify which other code you meant.
When do we start talking about Mounga competing for that 2nd spot in the pecking order of 10’s to don the saders jersey? For me he’s 2nd now. 1.Carter 2.Mounga 3.Merts
@@allblacks4729 true...did you spot what looks like Jordan pushing McKenzie off the ball before gathering the ball to score..well thats what it looks like anyway. They get away with alot.
@@nicholasvanlierde2546 But the laws should be applied consistently. What concerns me is that the NZ refs in particular allow a lot of shit to slide by in an effort to let the game flow. Then an All Black player gets red carded for doing the same thing at international level and the fans cry victimisation.
How was that tackle in the air only a yellow? The punishment for a reckless tackle that could so easily end someone's career is just a yellow? Like how is high tackling someone who is falling to the ground even nearly comparable to tackling someone in the fucking air?
Every single player that's played rugby had an off day, I see comments on here about damion McKenzie that are obviously by people who have never played rugby
3:40 4:48 Yellows? Why??? I believe they must be reds. I've seen so many referees showed red cards for much less dangerous and much less deliberate fouls in this season. No way! How could they be less dangerous or less deliberate than tackles gone a little bit higher on shoulder? Crusaders' magic!
So glad the Crusaders won, that second yellow was BS, Chiefs only got to the final through DMac's boot last thing I wanted was to see them win off the boot again.
That second yellow could've been red. Shoulder to Head contact, lucky it was a yellow. And Cody Taylor can count himself lucky to. Justin (penis) Marshall needs to learn the laws, in any other game Taylor would've been handed a red. And the ref missed a lot by both sides, When Jordan tackled Lowe ( High ) in the process of trying to score, that could have quite easily have been a penalty try as well.
That's the highest level of rugby ... hearing the crowd that does not respect the kicker, but whistles, makes me think that unfortunately rugby is becoming more and more like football ...
It's always been like this in Southern hemisphere rugby. It's only in posh England & the home nations where you remain silent for the kicker. So this is nothing new.
@@andreabelloni331 NZ dont have a sport for the hooligans to watch, so unfortunately they watch rugby. Most other countries have a peasant sport for them to watch
@@joshgoodman6534 Wrong. The same happens in France, Argentina & SA where football is still the most popular sport there. Aus has rugby league & AFL yet you still get the same behaviour...
