It is always funny to me how after someone wins one of these slams, they start rolling out their prediction lists. Oh that they will dominate the rest of the season, or the will win such and such number of slams :-) Not many of those so called experts actually picked her to win, though once the draw was announced, it was clear that she would face her first serious opponent in the semis, or maybe even quarters (Krejcikova). So, her side of the draw was clearly not a huge challenge to her, I mean, not nearly as much as some of the other top women. Yes, of course, she is ahead of the pack along with few others and earned this win and she deserves it like everyone always does, but let's not get ahead of time here. Let's not forget Rybakina, who beat her a few weeks before (bagel included), Gauff, who did as well famously and will probably get better this year, or Swiatek, who had a great start of the year and probably won't fade just cause she lost in the 3rd... Osaka is also coming back this year and will also only get better. This lack of overall picture is poor commentary.
