Ssj gread 4> ssj grade 3> ssj grade 2> ssj grade 1 Why? Simple. We learned in the moro arc that vegeta wasn't growing in power but the way he was using it and that made him stronger because he can use the power at 100%.
grade 4 is mastered and controlled grade 1, and while it is not stronger it also is much stronger, grade 1 drains stamina quickly and makes you much more emotional, less capable of fighting optimally while grade 4 allows you to fight basically as well as base form but with 50x multiplier
Yeah but it still doesnt make sense why Mastered SSJ Goku would be so much stronger than Grade 2 Vegeta. Grade 2 Seems like the perfect Ace Card like Frieza's 100% full powered as both providers a SPEED boost as well Combining Mastered SSJ with Grade 2 should be the end goal. That way you get the speed and power boost without they energy consumption EDIT: Thats probably what SS2 is. The combinations of grades 2 and 4
Base form. Every transformation is just a multiplier on base. Goku and Gohan were training so much, that their base skyrocketed. That's why Master SSJ Goku was so much stronger. Vegeta, and Trunks only focused on their Super saiyan Power, while Goku focused on his base power. In other words, they worked harder, Goku just worked smarter.
Super Saiyan Grade 4 is named that way because it’s superior to Grade 2 and 3, however, it doesn’t transcend the Super Saiyan barrier unlike Super Saiyan 2 proper. Grade 1 refers to the initial state of the transformation where there is a severe energy drain simply entering and subsequently using the form, along side increased aggression due to the form causing some level of mental instability(look at Goku actively restraining himself and snapping at his own son citing he’s struggling to control his fury for example). Grade 4 is therefore “stronger” in the sense that it’s the most energy efficient sub-grade of Super Saiyan while also allowing a saiyan to not compromise their mental faculties/personality. Yes, it’s just Super Saiyan but it’s _different_ from Grade 1 Super Saiyan. As you noted it follows a separate philosophy from Grade 2 and 3, however, it being a superior version of Grade 1 earns it a separate designation of grade therefore it’s called Grade 4
But, the grades are fan made names. They aren't official names for the forms. It's called grade 4 because the fandom decided that it was an evolution from grade 3. And yes, it is a superior version of Grade 1, but I think it should just be called Master Super Saiyan, cause that is what it really is. Just a super saiyan.. that's completely mastered. It's superior BECAUSE it's mastered.

But I will admit, I was wrong, it is in an official source. Still, I prefer to group grade 4 away from the other grades, since because of how different it is. @@MikatheVoidStar I feel as though you’re getting a little too hung up on the naming convention of “Grades”. Simply put, they share the same system for categorization not because they are similar but because it denotes the differences in how the Super Saiyan form is utilized. Grade One is the basic form with no specialization whatsoever. It is well suited for combat but suffers from increased aggression and continual stamina drain. Grade Two is Super Saiyan but the user forcibly outputs more power than the form typically does, increasing muscle mass leading to superior speed and strength presumably at the cost of an increase in energy usage. Three is that same concept but done to the utmost extreme granting the greatest boon in raw strength but is offset by a sharp decline in speed. As you noted, Four does not follow the same trend as Two and Three, however, it is still a specialized form of Super Saiyan that requires training to attain just like the latter two. It’s distinctly different from Grade 1 which everyone was using prior to training in the ROSAT/HBTC. You can call Grade Four as Mastered Super Saiyan because for all intents and purposes it is. However, none of them are true evolutions of the Super Saiyan form thus they are all sub-grades of it.

That it should be classified as something else, cause it's different. It shouldn't be classified as grade 4. That it should be classified as Mastered Super Saiyan. Also I would argue that they ARE evolutions of super saiyan. Considering Gohan even mentions that Goku surpassed the super saiyan wall when he first showcased Super saiyan grade 2. Meaning that it is an evolution from Super saiyan.

@@thelettucebarrel7784 Only by a guidebook, but never by any character in the actual anime. Nor in any interview I could find, did the creator of dragon ball (RIP to the GOAT) call it grade 4. It's not an evolution of grade 3, since they didn't train in grade 3 to get it. They trained in Super saiyan, and master super saiyan has nothing in common with Grade 3 or 2, other than it having super saiyan in it's name. Hell, even the hair of grade 2 and 3 are not only a different shade, but a different level of spikeyness, for lack of a better word. Hope this clears it up! :D
Its actual name is full power super saiyan, and its still a grade because it’s an evolved form of super saiyan, full power super saiyan aka mastered super saiyan allows you to draw out the full capacity of your ki pool into pure power which allows the user to do more damage than you would as a grade 1 if you were the same strength as post time chamber goku. Goku would be able to do more damage to you due to his ki not depleting overtime like grade 1 while drawing out its full strength consistently.
But Grades themselves are just a fan-made name. And again, comparing Full Power/Master Super saiyan (I like to just call it Mastered, cause that's pretty much what it is) to grade 2, and grade 3 would show that they are so different from each other. The only thing the other grades share with master super saiyan, is that they have super saiyan in their name. Also, your ki pool.. is your power. The form doesn't turn it into power. Ki is power. Ki is life energy. That's why, whenever somebody transforms, or is getting stronger, another character will say "His ki is rising!" And also why characters who die, have their power level drop to zero. Because now they don't have ki.
Now that I think about it Grade 4 is literally just Grade 1 but better. The stamina and energy consumption is perfectly mastered to the point it works like a sayian’s regular base form. If anything the real Grade 4 would be Super Sayian 2.
Yeah. It also fits Goku's character better, which I didn't mention in the video. Goku is the first Super saiyan, and he's the first person to truly master the form, by using his brain instead of just looking for a powerup like Vegeta and Trunks were.

Grade 4 is obviosly grade 4 what. It is the 3rd discovered advancement of the ssj transformation. Making it 3 grades above grade 1... making it grade 4, its not a completely different transformation either because none of the grades are separate transformations, just advancements of super saiyan "Its actual name, mastered super saiyan" except thats not its actual name which would be Super Saiyan Full Power
It's also called mastered super saiyan. Unless you want to say Goku was using the Full power Super saiyan full power during the Cell games. Calling it Mastered Super saiyan just rolls of the tongue much better, is just a better name for the form. Besides, the only thing that calls it Grade 4, is a guidebook. A guidebook that isn't always reliable. Besides, Mastered Super saiyan, is quite literally, nothing like the other grades. It's function is completely different, how you get it is completely different, the look of the form doesn't follow the trend of grade 2 and 3. Even the hair is drawn differently, with the grade hair looking much more spikery, and the mastered super saiyan hair looking more flowy, and it doesn't look like it would cut your finger. These changes means I would put Super saiyan "grade 4" as a completely different form from the other grades. It's a completely different branch of super saiyan.

Grades 2 and 3 have you inflate your muscles with ki, as in you do that while in ssj, its not the form itself doing that, you do that, even cell was capable of something similar, its just ssj with inflated muscles. Grade 4 is also just ssj, just like the other grades except with more control and less energy expenditure. They are all just super saiyan, none of them are different transformations. Since it is the 3rd advancement discovered after the inital state (with the initial state being grade 1) it is grade 4. Ssj2 on the other hand, is a different transformation, and yet it was called ssj grade 5, meanwhile ssj grade 4 which is not a separate transformation to ssj is also considered a grade, because grades are advancements to super saiyan. It doesnt matter if one looks slightly different or the other is formed from a different process, the grades are advancements to the generic super saiyan form, which grade 4 is.

"a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance:" Is super saiyan grade 2 a dramatic change in appearance from super saiyan? Yes. It's hair gets spikery, and the muscles gets bigger. Therefor it is a transformation. Is super saiyan grade 3 a dramatic change in appearance from grade 2? Not as much, but it's hair is even spiker, and it's muscles are even bigger, so yes. Therefore, super saiyan grade 3 is a transformation. Is super saiyan grade 4, what I like to call Mastered Super saiyan, a dramatic change from normal super saiyan? No. It is not. The only thing that's different is the hair and how it's drawn less spikey. And I don't consider it a different form, I consider it.. just a super saiyan.. that's mastered. Making it different from the grades.
