don't buy a card at the mrt ticket machine, buy a card at the bus stop ticket machine in the middle of the road, the card is called jaklingko, one card can be used for all public transportation in Jakarta, Jaklingko can be used for commuter trains, MRT, LRT and Transjakarta buses, if the MRT card is only used for MRT
For foreigner.. I am suggesting to buy E money Indomaret card. It can be buyed in All Indomaret shops. A card can filled to deposite money, minumum for 50.000 rupiah. That Indomaret car can used for pay MRT train, KRL or Commuter line train and Transjakarta Bus. One card for all transportation paying in Jakarta.
MRT has supporting role with 100k daily ridership...the primary means of transportation in Jakarta are TransJakarta bus rapid transit and KRL commuter line..with combined 2 million daily ridership.
20:21 u didn't realize that? That meme song in the background played perfectly timed with the end of that awkward moment between u and the bartender 🤣🤣
aah a fellow cultured people, yeah i noticed that too 😂. Right when he said "it's not Chai tea, this is Black Tea", then came the famous meme soundtrack. The timing is so well placed 🤣
Thank you, Hash. But the thumbnail is an overstatement imo. Judge our MRT system when it covers north, south, east and west of Jkt. Would love to have you experiencing it again when it's done
The MRT line in jakarta is very similar to the one in singapore, most mrt lines in asia actually works and look very similar in concept. I say its almost like a copy paste with different themes/infrastructure design.
The map you saw consists of: 1 line of MRT, 5 lines of commuter train (like KTM Komuter in Kuala Lumpur), 1 line of airport train, 1 line of airport skytrain (connecting the 3 terminals only), 1 line of short LRT, and the upcoming 3 lines of Jakarta Greater LRT.
Mrt jakarta only has 1 route and 13 stations still far behind Mrt kuala Lumpur which has 3 route and hundreds of stations. Besides that Kuala Lumpur has light rail, monorel, ERL, KTM and all of them have 10 routes and hundreds stations, like heaven and earth. 🤣😛😂
Norak, pamer itu je la yg kau tau. Kau nak promote your country so buat lah kat negara kau. Ape hal kau koment kat sini. MRT JKT baru je, itu pasal lah tak banyak station. Nanti pun banyak lah. Saling respect lah. Promote your country buat Kat sana jgn kat sini sebab ini about JKT MRT not Malaysia. This Indonesia bro not Malaysia. Ok paham2 lah sikit ye
It's not BUNDARAN HIGH...but BUNDARAN HUH...E (That's how to read H.I)...H.I is shorten of Hotel Indonesia. Bundaran H.I mean Roundabout of Hotel Indonesia. This hotel laid in front of the Roundabout fountain. Hotel Indonesia is the 1st Hotel in Jakarta. It built since 1962 for the 2nd Asian Games. The statue in the middle of the Fountain is named Patung Selamat Datang...Welcome Statue for the 2nd Asian Games Athletes. Many years ago Hotel Indonesia totally renovated and the management has changed and right now managed by Kempinsky. The name changed to Hotel Indonesia Kempinsky. The card you bought at the MRT station can be use for all the transportations system in Jakarta. Just Top Up the balance and you can use it all over public transportations in Jakarta managed by the goverment.
My advice is when you meet native Indonesians and you want to ask questions, there are still many Indonesians who don't know English, so use a translation application Because in Indonesia, English is only used in certain ways because the more important Indonesian is just information so we can talk to each other
The Bus transportation system in Jakarta, we call it "Busway system" are adopted from Bus transportation system in Bogota city, Colombia, south america by former Jakarta Governor, Mr Sutiyoso. And till now, the Bus system progress is made more modern from the past by newly Jakarta Governor, Mr Anies Baswedan.
not far from jakarta you can go to Bandung for your next trip in cold weather there are tea plantations & TANGKUBAN PERAHU MOUNTAIN or if you want to see the natural beauty of the clear sea & pink sand beaches and even beautiful mountains you can go to Komodo national park or LABUAN BAJO NUSA SOUTHEAST EAST.but if you want to see a city with typical Javanese culture, there is Yogyakarta.
to be more precise, you say it as Bundaran H I with the letters said how they normally would, indonesians say it as hi cause its easier for the tongue that way
buddy, you're in Indonesia and you're looking for thai tea latte? i know thai tea is so delicious but next time try kopi susu gula aren (palm sugar coffee laté) it's so so good 😊 unless you're not a coffee guy.
if pronouncing HI is a bit confusing to you, wait till you try to pronounce BNI, indonesia is the only country in the world that pronounce the roman alphabet differently than the rest of the world
Hi hash, I’d like to know what card did you use to pay at starbucks? Because I didn’t know if this features where you can use NFC to pay already available in Indonesia
Yes it’s available - usually anywhere that accepts contactless- should work as a using a normal contactless card because the technology is the same with apple or Google pay. Usually the integration is on by default by your bank or card issuer to integrate into apple or Google pay - the card reader don’t distinguish. Mines a uk Mastercard by starling bank - I prefer to use it because it reduces risk of card fraud - like cloning etc. happens to me more times i can count when i travel if I use physical card to pay
I would like to say that Singapore MRT is far better now than Jakarta MRT (even with all the commuter and LRT lines combined). It may have almost the same system but the amount of lines, stations, and the connectivity is incomparable with Jakarta MRT. You can access almost every part of the city using the MRT in Singapore, meanwhile in Jakarta it is only applies just to some major area. Singapore has the best MRT system in South East Asia right now, followed by Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) MRT, then Jakarta (Indonesia) MRT. However, if the central government quickly build their mass transportation plan in Jakarta as fast as the highways/toll roads, in less than 10 years, Jakarta might be on par with Singapore and surpass Kuala Lumpur.
the difference between mrt and Lrt is that the Lrt route is full on the upper lane and reaches out of Jakarta, while the mrt is only in the Jakarta area
