This new intro and style is really great. I have been here for a long time and I have seen your style improve a ton. My boy has grown up into a man. ;_;
***** Wallid, I tell ya hwut, ya new series is good quality series, you make good reviews and good review accessories. Your old series was just... BWAAAAH! jk, old series was bae
Hey everyone! Hope you're enjoying my new video - Feel free to fill me in on ways I could improve, or things you liked about it. ALSO, I'm going to be doing a direct review of the WiiU version and a video on amiibo really soon, so stay tuned! Thanks again - It's good to be back!
Wow... Good to see you back, this is a really, really good review! All points made about Smash Bros 3DS are clear and concise, the humour is executed well, although slightly forced at times, and the presentation is slick; especially with the intro, brand and smooth 60FPS... I mean really... It's so smooth, I can't believe it's not... b-b-b-b-butter...
Awesome video Balrog! I honestly think that you are one of the best YT reviewers. If not, you're at least my favorite. You're production, content, creativity, and balance between pathos and personality are just amazing!
SlushFORCES maybe special demo (which Club Nintendo decided to be a bitch and not give me my download codes even if I qualified for it) but for those who had the regular version of the demo were submited to 30 uses I think there were
Great video balrog! This is a HUGE improvement compared to your previous videos which still i love them till now. And i love the new intro because im not a fan of the previous and the new intro reminds me of the first intro which is the best
Nice to know you're asking the questions that need to be asked. Also loving your new style of videos, I was worried you'd be less comedic but I see that you've kept everything mostly the same. Can't wait for the Wii U review.
This was a great review. I love the new intro and the snazzy looking checkmarks and things. I thought it was a nice balance of comedic stuff and information. Overall its an improvement from your original formula (not to say the originals were bad because I liked those too). A better way of putting it is that its like a direct upgrade from your old reviews which is great! :D
Good to see you back, Balrog! And you bring up an excellent point: Smash 3DS is even more of a social experience than before. The portability is excellent: I literally sit in movie theatres or go around the campus and find random people to play Smash Bros on the go with and as a result I've made a lot of my closest friends. I knew they had to constrain some things for the handheld version of Smash, but the payoff was absolutely worth it and I play this game non-stop during breaks or bus rides. I also like your new layout, definitely more streamlined and at a more focused pace. Not much to complain about, so keep it up buddy. :)
I'm gonna get a lot of hate but I really don't like the fact that this game exists. It turned out to be a good experience and I respect everyone's wishes to have portable Smash, but this really hindered the Wii U version. We lost the Ice Climbers and Pokemon Trainer because of it, we lost stages that ended up being unique to the 3DS version and plenty of other things, so it ends up feeling like a game split in half. I guess I just have to suck it up, I can't really win this debate with anything I say :S
I agree. To me, it kinda made the wii u version boring. After playing the 3ds version, I already got a feel for all of the characters so getting the wii u version felt like I was playing the same game all over again
Honestly, the Ice Climbers weren't as big as everyone made them to be once they heard they wouldn't be in. About the Pokémon Trainer, it made perfect sense for how they handled it. Every single Pokémon chosen represents 6th generation in some way but at the same time 1st generation If just those two characters missing hinder your experience that bad, then idk how you were enjoying the rest of the series. Just sayin'
Danny Alfonso It's not really hindering my enjoyment that bad, I can live without these characters. It's the fact that they were cut because of hardware limitations that annoys me. Basically, I'm not happy that there are two versions of the game with different content when we could have it all in the one, definite console version. But like I said, I can't really do much with my opinion, it's just what it is. I'm enjoying the Wii U version a lot, for the record, it's really fun.
All I have to say is: Great video, and keep up the good reviews. The way you reviewed this game was very different from how I would (even through I wouldn't), and I really enjoy that.
Great video as always. Although I must say, I miss the old whiteboard you used to use while scoring the games. It gave the video a more genuine, homemade feeling. Other than that, keep up the good work!
Balrog I loved the review! You were a perfect fit for the review of this game since you're busy all the time! I can't wait for the Wii U version review!
Hey man great video! But one thing that caught me off guard was around 1:01 with the sound effects. They just seem a bit too loud and kind of distract from the intro. Maybe lowering it could help a bit, but other than that, you did an amazing job! Can't wait to see more!
Glad you liked it so much :) I wanted to add that I believe that things like cut scenes and opening movies were omitted simply because they wanted to save room on the cart for the highest calibre graphics, allowing the game to looks as jaw-dropping as it does on the 3ds :)
Yo balrog, i discover your chanel with the amiibo video and i start watch all of your video, man your so cool, it's so cool you make part of hidden block comunity! sorry for mistake m8 :)
Runnin' Through Castles sounds quite a bit like a song from Shovel Knight. Nice job Jayster. The review was pretty good too. I just hope that the Wi-Fi problem is solved on the New Nintendo 3DS.
I really feel what you said at the end! Some guy who I normally wouldn't have talked to much sits behind me in one of my classes. When we realized we both had sm4sh, we started playing each other whenever we got the chance and its a load of fun!
I'd say it probably has something to do with everyone being so bitter about the Wii servers shutting down, which was out of Nintendo's control. Mario kart and brawl were still active and still had communities that were almost forcefully disassembled
Good well rounded review. Smash has had a place in my heart since 1999, and Smash 4 is no exception. It's got a good balance, and its still fun to play! Nintendo never lost that in the series.
Do you guys think the fight pad is worth getting? If you have it or know someone who has it, could you please tell me if it's worth getting or should I just wait like a year for the damn gamecube adapter to restock?
narutouzumakijoshua I got the fight pad for Christmas (the one that plugs into the Wiimote, right?) and I like it fine. It's literally a GameCube controller's layout.
Yeah I picked one up for Christmas as well. It's definitely better than I expected it to be but I still can't play to my full potential with it. It's still pretty cool though since it can be used with pretty much every wii u game (and I think wii games that allow classic controllers)
When it comes to online play, I think it depends on the router and connection. At college: connection errors, but at home w/ att router: always a connection. That also carries over to my other online play.
The big problem I have with All-Star in the new games is the Fairy Bottle. If you have 98% damage and you want to heal for the next round, you have to use the Maxim Tomato (which will still leave you at 48%) or waste one of your Heart Containers, which could really help you at, say, 162%. I can't say how many times I ended up with this choice.
That feel when you've always been a natural at fighting games online, and video games in general. My proverbial genetic stars aligned such that I've been bestowed a considerable insurmountable edge when it comes to video games.
I once had Sm4sh 3DS... but It somehow deleted itself along with some of my 3DS blocks (space). It needs over 9000 (for real [not being cliche]) blocks and I ended up with 6000-7000 blocks. Rip in pieces Sm4sh 3DS
so can you use the 3ds as a controller while you poop? if the wii u controller goes flat i'd like to be able to continue playing. sometimes i spend way to long in there >:D
Sad to say, when i got it for my birthday I played it for a little and then put it on my shelf and haven't played it much since. I think it might be because all I usually play are RPGs, fighting games are a whole new territory to me.
I don't really see how this is different from BNGR. I mean, I know you want to expand your scope, but in this particular case, besides the new assets, nothing feels changed.
Balrog you sexy beast, as much as I love you (I've seen all of your videos and I love them all) I still don't REALLY see the difference between BGR and BNGR, is it because you're going to review more game that are not nintendo? I guess that makes sence but I just wanted to ask. Btw I also play smash bros in the bathroom and I've had people walk by. It is soooo worth it
I have the new 3ds and smash is really fun on it. The c stick really works on it. Lucky I live in Australia so I got it on the 21st if November. I really want to get smash I play the demo all the time
I own both versions and I still find use of 3DS version, I always take it with to play and I leave my house a lot, so I'd like to think people will still play the handheld version
7:13 The excessive amount of errors you get when you try to find a room is caused by either a bad matchmaking or a forced kick due to the other(s) having a very bad ping. The Nintendo 3DS just doesn't bother telling you about that because, Nintendo logic I guess
