After the success of the original Super Smash Bros game on the N64, Nintendo made the promise that Smash would come to their new GameCube console. Nintendo wanted to capitalize on the success of the series and wanted it on the new console as fast as possible. With a development time of only 2 years, Super Smash Bros Melee came out shortly after the release of the GameCube becoming the system seller for its early days in 2001.
However, the short development time meant that the game had many unintentional exploits and strategies that expert players could learn to get an edge. This is why Melee is still a popular game that is seen by many as the best in the franchise. Even though it was not intended to be played this way.
As a relatively inexperienced smash player, I set out on the journey of unlocking all the content in this game.
